congrats gg!

hi friends,
my question is.....

Can I submit PR Application without Indian PCC??
Once I get Indian PCC (maybe after a month or two....donno how long this PCC process will take...god only knows) can I send it to visa officer?

yes, vfs is totally useless. they are not even replying properly. and lil rude people too.....

@Braveman, thanks.

You can submit your PR application without PCC but you need to consider the below points:

1) Once you submit your PR application without PCC, you cannot submit your PCC till you receive your AOR (i.e. you need your file no. to send your PCC)

2) Looking at your current status of 3 weeks into your PCC application, I would suggest to wait till you receive your PCC and submit it together because you dont want your PCC to expire before submitting it i.e. there may be a scenario where you submit your PR application(w/o PCC) now and receive your PCC immediately after submitting your PR application and if you do not receive your AOR in next 3 months, you will not be able to submit your PCC for 3 months and it will expire after 3 months of PCC generation.

On the contrary, few August applicants have received their AORs within 1 month of applying which is surprising but unsusual. Usually, they say it takes avg. 3 months to get an AOR. I know few who received after 4 months too.

So pls weigh above points before you decide to apply with or without PCC in your current situation.

all the best,
gg

I am getting the below status online for my PCC application

Application Date Status
16-Aug-2012 You have resubmitted your pending document(s) at the Application Centre. Your application is under process.

Any idea how long will it take according to this status?

Read the instruction guide:
"The certificate must have been issued no more than three months prior to submitting your application. If the original certificate is not in English or French, then you will need to submit both the certificate and the original copy of the translation prepared by an accredited translator."

I am wondering if the delays are at particular consulates or just in general.

Going to start a table to see if we can figure it out. Please update

Interesting thing is, VFS did not take my passport for the PCC. I was a little confused, but I did not complain.

Yey, I got my pcc finally. Tomorrow I will pick it from VFS.

Following is the summary/process -
1. Apply for PCC in VFS.
2. Make sure to Recheck the status after 1 or 2 days - CGI may reject the application due to several special reasons.(No passport, Require 3 photos etc)
3. Resubmit the application again at VFS with required photos/documentation.
Note: VFS task is done. DONOT CONTACT VFS for the STATUS. CONTACT CGI Directly. VFS is as good as NOTHING
4. CGI will send the request to India(Passport Office where the passport issues)
5. Passport office will send the inquiry to Police station listed on the file.(No need to mention your present address if it is different from Passport address in PCC application form)
6. Police verify their records(NO INQUIRY AT HOME/ADDRESS) and send confirmation back to Passport office & CGI
7. CGI will print the report
8. CGI will send the report to VFS
9. VFS gets the report
10. VFS guys scan the report and change the status to "Ready to Pickup"
11. Enjoy...

Following are the important points -
1. In PCC application form mention only passport address.
2. DONOT Inquiry with VFS guys
3. Go to CGI for accurate status
4. If the police station where your file is present - If it is a known CITY or TOWN, Police will know what to do. If it is a small town or village - They treat this as normal Passport Verification. Thus they will go to the address and inquire about you. This will delay whole process.
If it is a small village - Send a mail to respective commissioner/DSP. You can get the mail ids from internet. They will get the things done quickly. But make sure that the report request is sent to that village/town police station from CGI.
5. Do not go or inquire with VFS unless the status changes to PICKUP. Its a useless trip/phone call.
Hope this helps to all who are waiting for PCC 8)

Guys quick question for you. I got my PCC in January 2012 but I applied my application in July 2012. I am hearing that PCC has to be within 3 months of applying application, is it correct? Should i be worried now?
