Congrats in advance! Try changing your passport!

Yes,it is really something one must try to avoid• I thought that it is 6 months before expiration? Is it now one year? This is the greatest of my concern because I am the one in question , if the PRV expiry date is august 2015 as per the date the passport will expire , if I renew my passport ,and inform Accra that my passport has been renewed and I am requesting that my PRV expiry change from the date of old passport expiry date to the one year of medical; is this feasible? This is majorly because I have a schedule for august 2015 which I really have to attend as the most important person•

Has anyone heard or read anything similar?

You are fine Gentleandrew. Technically, it is not acceptable to have 2 valid passports. If you must renew your passport, the old one must be cancelled. I have encountered that scenario before too. I almost got into big trouble. The immigration people at the airport promptly cancelled the older one. So get your visa and when your passport expires, renew it and attach the 2. There should be no trouble. If after this you still in doubt then write directly to AVO. We will be happy to hear from the horses mouth too.

I think it's still 6mths though. I'll advise u take a deep breath first and think it through. Since u till have more than 6 mths left and at the rate at which AVO is going, we may all get our passports bck b4 end of first quarter next year. The most reasonable thing is do landing early and then come bck for ur engagement.
Except there's another workable advise from anyone.

My people, I just checked my inbox and saw the above mail. In other words, my MR has arrived. :D :D :D :D :D

I'd also like to use this opportunity to share this piece of information with the house. Actually, I've been waiting for my MR to come before sharing the news. As much as I am very happy that my MR has come in, I won't be doing the medicals just yet because I am pregnant! My husband will also have to wait for me so that our medical dates can synchronize. Therefore, I'll be communicating to AVO via our representative/lawyer of my condition. So for now, e be like say my application go enter ''snooze'' for now! ;D ;D ;D :p :p :p :p

AMEN OOOOOOOOOO.
In my research ,I find the online payment to be very easy to use.Apart from the registration you will do on CIC site,no bottlenecks involved.
What I can't confirm is the acceptability by Accra visa office. The applicant who made mention of it on the thread you made mentioned of actually used gtbank draft to pay for his rprf fee despite advising fellow applicants on using the online portal .Why I am doubting the acceptability of Accra visa office on this mode of payment is in the instructions of the medical request been sent to applicants. This is apart from the fact that they even stated their preference of payment the on Accra visa office website.
I will like one of our earlier applicants to confirm the contents of medical request received to actually know if online payment for rprf is accepted.......with emphasis on the red colored comments by the visa office that sent this request.
I have a medical request of a buddy of to display here for comparison.......please see below.

Looking at the request above, the visa office specifically showed that rprf payment online is acceptable. Can we confirm if it's same for Accra ?
Just don't want to put any of us in bottle necks.
Cheers .
Thank you Kollins again for the comparison between the 2 letters and for going to this length to get this info. I see what you mean now. However, you also said you'd write to AVO to ask. Please could you let us know what they say? Furthermore, other than GTB do you know if any other bank can issue this type of draft. Their charges are just too high. There's no denying their efficiency but I'm sure we can get the same at a far lower cost and without having to open a dorm account with them.

Congrats madam......and also Congrats on the young Canadian in the womb.
Meanwhile,I will love you to visit the medical hospital to seek advice on your medicals....especially the xray scanning.
It's actually been ascertained that it's healthy to do it and use the sheild for the scanning.
I'll try and dig out options for you......unless Ofcourse you personally do not want to do the medicals.
You can do it...depending on the week of your pregnancy...and even go ahead to land in Canada and have your baby there.
One thing at a time .......
Congrats for the good news.

But I'll try to write them and surely ,I'll revert back to the family of any response from them.
I'm sure other banks will be issuing drafts too...Zenith bank.I know of a friend that used it but i didn't asked of the details.
It will be preposterous if the only bank that have the ability to raise Canadian drafts in Nigeria is Gtbank .......I'm sure all the commercial banks will be able to do it.
Whoever will do it without dorm account may charge you higher than Gtbank ....my opinion.
Nothing comes free with these banks....all of them are same same. :D
