Hi. Guys,
I also wanted to add that for those considering taking professional certificates like ICAN,CISCO,MICROSOFT.....you can actually take them here to boost ur profile when u land in canada.Cos there's no such thing as ICAN-NIGERIA or ICAN USA.its universal.just like IELTS. ;D I personally am going to pursue nursing as the medical field has always been my passion.I studied mcbiology,wanted medicine tho. I can't even think of medicine now abeg,that na longggggggg tin.
Also, on the real estate matter,we just used our receipt and valuation report.my take is that,its better to 'over-do' than 'under-do' ;D any document wey dem no need,make dem blank am themselves.
Another thing also guys, my husbnd and I already had our credentials evaluated. We used WES. That's one more huddle crossed.I don't have to worry about that web we get there and d beauty about the WES package we chose is that we'd have NOTHING more to do with our. Nija schools anymore(transcript wahala) all we need do is contact WES and deyl send a copy of our transcript and evaluation report to the school/licencing body.shikena. ;D

[Hello, actually the accounting bodies are separate and also require some forms of upgrades to change over. The governing body for accountants in Canada is CGA. I know they have a Mutual Recognition Agreement with ACCA which allows acca accountants to just do one course and become CGAs. ICAN Accountants however get some exemptions in the CGA exams, but they have to write exams to qualify. in my opinion, the ACCA route is easier. ]

;D ;D laugh no go kill me here, i totally understand ooo, its the same thing for me as i can't wait to be a Manitoba mama... ;D ...i too eat and sleep Manitoba and i'm proud to.... ;D...thanks for the response, u put my mind at ease, we will however still get our credential assessed as it is only just extra insurance for us when we are eventually trying to go for more studies at the university. we will just continue to pray that our turn for LOA comes soon.

i learnt hairdressing and used that to make some cool cash when i was in the UK, the thing don enter my blood sotay i used to fix my weaves and braids on my hair by myself, my husband still marvels at how i could do it then, i dont know if i will still fix for money as it became too stressful to add it to my programe, but i will sure fix for myself, so i will advice you to learn fixing of weaves as this is faster to catch and you spend less time per customer...we will surely get there...AMEN.

Good day my people! Nice to meet ม all. My application was submtted by hand at the nominee office june 2013. I was given the file no 9th of August, we were asked for missing documents on the 7th of january which made me believe my application was being worked on. Submitted the documents on the 10th through e-mail and I was given the acknowledgement of the reciept on the 20th of january. Nothing has been heard since then. My application is under skilled workers (family stream). Can someone please tell me what could be happening? Thanks.

I am not an immigration officer... ...but after a lil research, i have found that hard copy applications do take btw 10-12 mnths, judging from when you put in your application last year, and the fact that they asked you for more docs, i must say you will soon hear from them as your miracle is not far off by God's grace, just be a bit patient (easier said than done :).

how are you, i'm sure you are still hanging in there... ... i never knew this waiting game will be this unnerving...i will do as i preach...PATIENCE...i dont have a choice... .

@ yommyatos What ม said is the truth just added that one just needs to be hardworking ม can imagine someone working as a care giver being betteroff financially than ม working as an excutive in a bank here in Ngeria! Canada (Winnipeg) on my mind now right now.
We pray that Nigeria should be better everyday yet we are not doing things to make the country improve. Corruption and lies everywhere so it's not a sin if can get to where ม can give your children better future. This is a country where ม'll be in big trouble if ม should have any little health challenge!! May God help us, though we still have to continue to pray for Nigeria cos it is till our country.

Yommyatos ;DI'm not naughty ooo, and I totally support what you say about certs with nothing to show, one has to be prayerfully wise and use all the guidance you can find from new immigrant services to church buddies and more experienced friends both naija and oyinbo we make there as 'over sabi' will not help...not forgeting however that some of our naija pple love being 'professional students'...hahaha.

Teju, you are totally right, more than anything its the hard work and no concrete fruits for our labour that gets me and even literarily brings me to tears at times. I can't continue to labour in a land where evil and corruption frustrates our efforts and more importantly I don't want my kids to grow up socking up and imbibing this culture of corruption...this scares me the most, I want them to grow up in a society where their hard work and merits makes way for them. I am scared stiff about my kids growing up here. We know Our decision to make Manitoba our home will favour us in Jesus name
