Joky3, if your NOC falls under the drillers and blasters group, then you are lucky, even if you do not apply now, you could still do that in July, depending on when your wife would be through with her Masters degree programme, but be mindful that, for your application to be complete, you must include your wife's master's degree certificate, and transcripts. So it actually depends on how soon she can obtain these documents after the programme.
I understand that a few vital changes may be introduced, which would unfortunately, reduce points for those above 30 years, but fortunately, reduce IELTS passmark for highly skilled tradesmen, ie plumbers, crane operators, drillers,etc. I am not too sure about how this would affect you.
But Bros wait o, how come the listening part sounds so strange to you, na only two oyibo people dey gist o, and dem dey confuse you like dis, and you wan go Canada where plenty of them fit dey hala you at the same time, that time you fit begin cry o! ;D ;D

Bross i am a well site geologist, and i have worked with Candian/American citizen on nigeria Rigs,withouth communication problem, so lets leave canadian ielts, is not a true test of communication.

But Joky3, on a really serious note, get a practice kit from British council, and in a couple of weeks you'll be good for another test. IELTS is honestly not a test of our true abilities/qualities, it is just their thing, but we need it to achieve our aim in this situation. It is to your advantage that your NOC is slow to fill up, and would certainly remain in the list for the next cap. There are certainly going to be some changes, and from what I have read, it may affect age, work experience, and language ability. You never can tell how this might affect your application.

I want to thank Right,Emu,Tinu and Naija Picking, i appreciate all the responses, may God answer all our prayers.
My NOC category fall under Oil and Gas, Hydrocarbon mudlogging drilling.
My highest level of education is B.sc in Geology
My spouse has B.sc but presently runing her master programme which can give me the one point to make 67.
Can i go ahead hoping to scale through base on my wife awaiting result and NOC category that might not be saturated.
Taking ielts again is not an option i want to consider, THE LISTENING TEST WAS STRANGE! Listening -5, Speaking- 7 ,Writing-6.5, Reading-6

I dont undersant when you say takieng ielts again is not an option. Let me ask did you prepare for the ielts exam? so many practise test on the internet even published on this thread sometimes ago. British Council has a book they sell for N4000.00 which is also very helpful, you can listen again and again until you are good at it, am sure if you practice well before the exams you can even score 16 points. Bros CIC is changing the rule every now and then and i hear from May or so they will reduce the points they attach to ielts so please make hay while the sun shine. As per your wife, you cant be too sure cic would increase her points since she is not the principal applicant to the best of my knowledge you can score only 4 marks for adaptability with your wife education but others can comment on it.

All glory to Almighty God the author and finisher of our faith!! Is there anything God can not do?The answer is absolutely nothing.This piece is just to encourage you all as it is very imperative to believe in the efficacies of prayers and not give kudos to any man for your success.

It was as if everything was going so slow and little did i know that God had plans in place for me. I did my medicals in August 2010 and there were series of delays before i got my PPR as i discovered that CHC deliberately slows down PPR process due to official quota reasons. I had to pray my way to breakthrough as right from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force. The landing process was wonderful and the easiest i could ever imagine.

I really want to admonish those that panic unnecessarily not to panic but put their trust and faith in God. I read with amazement when people come here and post negative things about their landing experience and life in Canada but reverse has been the case for me as my bible says when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people,He suffered no man to do them wrong,he reproved kings for their sakes,Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. I completed my landing in less than 20minutes and it was a chatting experience rather than the usual bureaucratic process.

On day 2 after landing, i got my SIN card, bank account done as well as drivers licence as i already have brothers and uncles here. No the less please be advised about the fact that who you mingle with when you land determines your level of achievement. PLEASE GUYS HAVE A CAN DO ATTITUDE AND NOT DECIDE TO SETTLE FOR JUST ANYTHING. What i have discovered is that if you are just interested in just any job, getting up the ladder will be difficult or might be impossible so please aim for the top and not think like a low leveled person. I am not aiming for just anything but big things and i can see it happening as the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.

Canada is a lovely place and a land of opportunities as i have seen. I have met a number of people who are really doing well in this land, what stops you and i from been part of them? People say its cold here but is our life and careers not more important after all some people were born and bred in this country. I can say the fact that i have uncles and brothers here has really helped me but to a great extent my bible says “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion” and i believe this is for us all. I have been a bit lazy because i am trying to adjust to the time difference between London and here, if not for that i believe by now i would have been invited for a job interview but i am leaving all until next week.

Please also understand that the fact that someone has been in Canada before you does not necessarily mean they know better than you as i had to even correct my banker about some banking process as he was oblivious of somethings. The key word in Canada is to be confident as you have a right that a Canadian have after landing the only difference is that you can not vote. I will continue my experience at a later date. This little piece is just to create awareness to you guys and encourage you that all things are possible for those who believe.

The IELTS exam requires practice. Practice in the sense that the exam conditions are not the most ideal - noise, clarity of speakers vis echo and distractions. The listening test is the worst in that you are not going to hear only a canadian conversation but an English conversation - any english speaking person. Hence it means you have to listen to as many variants english pronunciations as possible. English, Irish, Canadian, USA, New Zealnd, Australia etc all have different pronunciation which needs plenty listening-to to create familiarity. Ol' boy the "I work with many foreigner" thing no go work o. I schooled for jand yet I made sure I practiced listening well well. I eventually got 16points 'cause that what I needed to make my application fly.

Please take the IELTS seriuos if you really want to re-locate. Better to be sure!

I assume your NOC is 8222. I am still looking for the crucial 1 point you need I haven't seen it yet. For me I will not fire the shot with self assessment of 67points. You are the one who will gather the docs and send and pay for the services. But pause and see that you are not shooting for shooting sake. Peace

I mailed ACCRA via my lawyer and they replied that my file is awaiting to resume proccessing. Please i want to know if it is not yet time for me to have received my doc update letter. Please advice.

Since your file is awaiting to resume processing, then keep your fingers crossed. Usually but not always, when they want to resume, you will be asked via a letter whether you still want to continue with the application or not. If they don't hear from you, then it is assumed you wish to continue and then you get your update request.

My sister is a Computer Engineer and she applied under NOC 213. sHE'S A NETWORK ADMIN in a bank an Asst Mgr. She has been working for the past 8 years with her work experienece correspond with the NOC published under CIC
She applied and got her 1st AOR in Oct 2010. she's a pre june 2010 applicant.
She uses a lawyer.
Question

1. Did she qualify to earn 21 points for work experience...please note that the lawyer said she will qualify for only 12 points since she was just promoted as Assistant Manager 2yrs ago. however, in my own opinion I think the status does not matter but the job you do.

2. She got IELTS 9points L-5, R- 6, W -6, S-7 = 6.0band Msc (Comp.Eng), spouce (BSc), within age 1-40yrs............I have calculated 69 points Kindly correct me.

3. Can she send the result of her IELTS straight to CHC since she just got the result after she has send all other documents to CHC? Keep in mind that she used a lawyer; would they accept anything from her?
