In theory no because it's supposed the couples/family will want to be together. Now if all these tries were before sending the sponsorship application, they will have more doubts and with more probability they will ask an interview.
After 2 rejections it's suggested to stop trying for a big while until the applicant can change the things that were missing: work, having more money, travelling, etc. Because the more rejections at the past, the more rejections at future
I am a PR holder and my Wife's PR is in process under spouse sponsorship.I dont think she woule be eligible for SOWP.We tried applying for her TRV so that until her PR is approved she can visit me for sometime
Anyone here who applied for trv as an immediate family member of canadian citizen or permanent resident in the last week or two and then the application was put on hold because of Covid 19, but now got any final decision post the July 1 release that visitor visas are now being processed again by IRCC?
Yes - sometimes multiple TRV applications can impact a spousal sponsorship application. If someone has too many refusals for a TRV, this can sometimes make IRCC concerned it is a marriage of convenience and that individual is trying to find any way possible to come to Canada. If you have 2 or 3 refusals, I would stop there and not apply further unless you have been married to your spouse for a long time.
You're right. She is not eligible for a SOWP. The TRV was the right thing to apply for.

I have a quick inquiry. Applied for visit visa for my spouse on the 25th of June. The application is still under background check. However, I just realized I answered 'No' to the question regarding "Are you financially dependent on anyone". Even though I included a letter saying I would be responsible for the trip. Also, my spouse is a student. I'm worried I may have answered wrongly and would like know what I can do.

If she is dependent on you and all expense are covered by you, I highly suggest correcting your answer. You can submit a letter of explanation via the webform: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp.

So I'm just wondering if answers to the questionnaire can be taken to mean misrepresentation based on this. I may as well just submit a web form just to be safe.
Aha I didn’t notice that message to be honest so you are probably right but as You said no harm in updating the answer via a web inquiry. It may even let someone open your application.
I applied June 20 for a TRV. It's July 5th and they still have not even begun to review it. Is this normal? I see others getting theirs processed and/or refused within 1-2 days sometimes. Obviously I don't want a refusal, but why are they not even beginning to review mine? When I applied it said normal processing time is 14 days -- it's 15 days in and nothing has even started.
