Hey Buddy, we went through the same headache while trying to link our application to the mycic account. After more than hundreds of attempts, we stumbled upon a post in one of the threads which advised to leave the city of birth blank, which is what we tried and it worked for us.

The tricky thing is it won't let you leave the city of birth blank...so make sure you enter a space character in the field and then try to proceed...also don't enter the passport details.

Hope it works for you.

I tried too many times, even I reported technical difficulties every time they said you have entered "City/Town/Village" wrong, but I am 100% sure I am entering correct answer as I have application form that I have submitted with application. I believe they have made mistake entering information into their system.

Question: Did you guys first see updates on the eCas or myCIC account or you directly got the email?
What was the order? (myCIC first, eCas second and Email third?).

Just curious because my wife who is in India, never received AOR2 through email or snail-mail. We wanted to keep close eye on this now as our application date is in April 2016, and only I got SA in early June. Her side on eCas shows the processing started in June. Have any of you heard of any one not receiving AOR2 at all?

Hi ghostrider,
Yes there is an option to send the passport to Ottawa if the applicant is in Canada at the time of receiving PPR. It is mentioned in the PPR letter too.
My wife is here with me on visitor visa, so we will be sending the passport to Ottawa.

Hi djsum, thank you so much for sharing this update, I was a little worried on how this would work. Do you need to do anything special, or you just mail it to CPC-Ottawa with a return envelope ?

Yes I can understand, its so frustrating. I'm gonna try this trick when I get home today and see if it works. I've been trying to link it since almost 1 month now.

Leave Place of birth section blank. But enter your passport details, as it is either place of birth or passport details. Hope it helps.

True, I am worried coz our medical is expired and now m waiting for medical....I wish we could do medical by ourselves instead of waiting for email. Also medical was never added on ecas and online account says medical not started. So I don't know.... :-[
