Hi all,

I got married in March and currently in the process of applying for the PR for my wife. The current wait time for NDVO outland applications is 18 months, I wanted to check if anyone here knows whether that is accurate or is it a worst case scenario? 18 months seems too long.....Has anyone got there process done quicker??

Also, has any one here gone the Inland route or know anyone else who has? Although the inland applications take even longer, with the OWP pilot program, I think it might be worth it considering the main point is to start living together.

No dear its 16 months after getting SA. But generally takes 8-10 months to get visa. I will suggest u to apply outland it will be speedy than inland. But it outland u have to be sit tight till 10 months.

10 months = india + canada, right?
I mean this is the approx total time taking these days for clearance of one's application, am i right?

8-10 months is also a lot :(

Let's be positive! Atleast it's less than what is quoted on the site and that surely shows some certainty, if your application is flawless

Yaa but no option. We have to wait only. Me nd my husband were not together on our first anniversary. That day was so bad. Which was one of the best day last year. Becomes worst day this year just because of this more ones.

Hey,

Is your wife already in Canada or have a visit visa? Inland takes a considerable amount of time than outland, yes you can apply for the open work permit but its only after 3-4 months and given that the trend and avg processing time is 8-9 months its better to apply outland and sit tight.

Only complicated applications take 18 months or more and most applications are getting processed in 8-9 months.

What exactly is "complicated case" here? Me and my wife eloped and got married. Our parents were not in our wedding pictures. Is it considered complicated case??

That's a tough question and the answers is very subjective. You will have to provide an explanation why you parents are not in the photos and I would show more relationship proofs before and after the marriage to show its genuineness.
To apply in-land she has be to be here and it is not advised to apply inland though there is a possibility to get the OWP. In-land takes really long, about two years so don't since most NDVO applicants are getting processed in 8-9 months.

You can apply for the PR and after getting the SA and her getting the AOR you can try apply for a visit visa.
