Hey Draxz
Timeline is
Application submitted: September 18th 2014
Went to NDVO November 19 2014
In process since June 2015
More documents requested- Aug 2015, submitted within 10 days
Remed request- November 30 2015, remeds submitted Dec 14th 2015

Got my GCMS notes and everything is clear on there, interview waived. Remeds is the stage where it is stopped

What do you think could be the time before we get PPR?

Also, my husband is already in India, his US visa expired and needs to get it re-stamped which will take another 1.5 months or so

Is it better to change his address to the Indian address then?

Can he submit his Passport once in US though? or he has to go to India for that anyways?

Do we get the passport back to US if he has the US address on there? What is the use of the US address?

He can come to Canada as he has the visiting visa, is there a possibility for him to submit his passport in Canada and collect it back?

How and where does the passport get sent back?

Thanks for your help

What is your timeline. It really depends on what stage your file is and what month application you are. It usually takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 or more months after re-medicals. Could he wait till he gets his PR and then go to India because if you are close if better to wait.

Its back to 18 months now ... Not sure what they are trying to do here!!!!!!!

Hey,

It usually takes anywhere from 10 days to 3 months or more after the re-medicals since it depends if the back check and others have been complete then again you could be like us everything was completed on Oct 2014 and we are still waiting for PPR. If all your stage is complete you should hear back soon given that you are a Sept 2014 applicant.

First is your husband eventually going to get it stamped and get back to the US in 1.5 or 2 months? then they could in the mean while contact him to submit the passport - its usually sent in the email and only in rare instances in the mail. I am not sure for the US side but your husband can definitely submit the passport for stamping in Canada if he is in Canada. As for the address change its best to notify any address change in case they contact him in the mail. Hope that helps.

Assessment of sponsor has now changed from 10 days to 62 days

Back to 18 months though!

I am Dec 2014 applicant . my spouse medical expired on 2nd November . But She has not received re-medical request or anykind of updates .

I am canadian PR and currently in India . Is it the reason for no updates ?

please advice .

Thanks

got notes couple of days ago its saying double slot interview recommend... anyone know what that exactly means??
Double slot interview means?

I think CIC is busy doing paper work for syrian refugees.
This whole refugee business is utter non sense.
Most notorious gangs in Toronto are run by ex-refugees.
I think conservative govt was better than this on job trainee trudeau!

wow, This year Resolution for NDVO--let`s increasing processing time from 16 to 17 to 19 to 26....wtf?

Processing time for outside of Canada application has gone up now . But not specific to Visa office.

So they averaged out the time for all nations ?

This is what they are saying:
Why are there differences in processing times among regions and offices?

Visa offices face different challenges operating in different countries and regions, and even in different offices within the same region. Various factors can affect the time it takes to process applications, including:

the number of applications received;
the resources at an office;
the length of time an applicant takes to respond to requests for information;
the need for medical and security screening; and
differences in mail service.
Was this answer useful?
Yes

If money is not a issue get local MP support letter and apply for visitor visa.
Otherwise you have no option but to wait.

Thank you Spiker79
He already has canadian visitor visa
Can he submit his visa to cic-ottawa via courier then?
How long does the stamping take in this case?
Or can I get the passport from him and submit it myself?

Hey
Thanks for the reply

He is eventually going to US in 1.5-2 months
He also has a roommate at the US address that can check mails if needed

When he submits his visa in new delhi office, where do they send it back to?

Any idea on how to submit passport if he can come to Canada on visitor visa?
Or if i can get his passport to Canada with me?
