Actually cic looks at us as "Guilty until proven innocent", so all of us should expect to be interviewed and approach our file likewise.
There are many instances in this forum ( if you look thru the appeal threads ), where long marriages with children are also rejected.
IMHO, it would be better to collect all proofs of ongoing relationship and send to CIC. It will have an impact; Definitely NDVO has to sort thru and link it with our files. That is their job and we are paying for their services. But whether they do it as sincerely as we expect them to is another story ;-)

And all additional documents should be sent to NDVO. Either Sponsor or PA can send it. from India or from Canada or from anywhere. Make sure it goes to NDVO as thats where your file currently is.

Yes, i would like to confirm this. So basically my wife should submit the package to NDVO from India ??
All information pertaining to the file after its been transferred to the VO should be made by the applicant directly to the VO unless the sponsor has been made a representative.

So you will send the updates to your wife and she will have to update NDVO

Hey!
What is the next step after receiving the AOR and how long does it take?
My husband got a mail from CIC which had the application number and the UCI (I hope that's the AOR). ::)

Hi,

Have you got SA yet ? Was your AOR sent from New Delhi. If your file is in New Delhi, it will take around 7 - 8 months ( best case ) to get In process.
Dont expect to hear anything unless they request additional documents.

Are you able to login to ecas ?

Happy waiting !

Agree with you Innosense. we are at the mercy of NDVO. Don't know when they will show mercy on our file.

Any reason why you think it is necessary? Do you have an interview scheduled? Just curious. This wasn't necessary as far as I know.
no ,i do not have any interview .. its just that i am planning a visit and thinking about updating NDVO about it. Otherwise i am not asked by NDVO to submit any additional documents or proofs..

Is it suggested to submit it to NDVO ???

Hi Sunny,

I have send Additional documents of visit to NDVo without asking. I have interview recommended on file and we consulted the lawyer. He said that we should sent the recent visit proofs to ndvo providing a cover letter with purpose of visit, places visited, pics, copies of boarding pass and tickets. It has to be sent by applicant ( my husband) in this case and from India.

Hoping a miracle happens and interview is cancelled :)]

While I agree with you that we are "guilty until proven innocent", this will also set a precedent in "normal process" for future applicants. So far, there have been several thousand people getting PPRs without needing to submit additional relationship proof unless asked by NDVO. The current expectation is that we send all necessary relationship proof while initially submitting the application. By submitting additional proof without being asked, we are doing two things: 1) Increasing workload for NDVO for our own file's sake which will delay everybody else's file, and eventually our own file too, and 2) Getting NDVO used to this "keep receiving proof" process, so that if some innocent guy doesn't send it in future, his relationship will be questioned. They will say everyone else is visiting their partner and submitting the proof, why are you not submitting it, and call him for interview. So, its just unnecessarily complicating an already long process for everyone else.

If we are genuine, and did a good job in submitting the proof initially, nothing more is necessary right now, and it won't have any impact, unless you are called for an interview. If you are called for interview, then yes, additional proof should be gathered.

Yes, agree with you. I am not saying everyone MUST send additional docs. Just saying it would be better to gather proofs of ongoing relationship.
Based on how well the initial package was put together and keeping in mind their individual case and known red flags / recommended interview, each person can use their discretion in sending add. doc.

For example, in an arranged marriage, if you met your spouse for first time and that was on the day of marriage and later you traveled back to Canada. After 6 months, if you visited India. I would say send the proof. That's just my opinion. There is no right or wrong in this.
We all should do what we feel comfortable doing. :)

Yes, that makes sense. If someone feels their initial relationship proof is may be not enough, they can always send more in. NDVO by themselves does not have such an expectation though right now. I do hope things will simplify for Indians in the future, like with Europeans for example. If enough of us are genuine, and represent the country well, then eventually this stain of "Guilty until proven innocent" will wash away from our people and future applicants will have easier time. Hopefully. :)

I know a nice way, write a nice love letter to your partner and wait for reply to come next morning :p That reply will come lot sooner and will be much better than NDVO :)
