No problem with that, you can stay for whatever duration you want.My wife(citizen and sponsor) is with me since we got married 2 years ago.

That's true, but there are two things to know if sponsor is staying for longer than 180 days
  • You will need to get yourself registered with FRRO (Foreigner Regional Registration Office) in your city. You need their stamped document to fly back.
  • If your permanent address is outside of Canada (exclusively living out of Canada), then you will need to provide a proof and reasonable plan to return to Canada immediately once the sponsorship application is approved.

Hi I just got back my passport from Ndvo. It's useless to send them fax and call them. I tried both of these and also they never reply our emails. I read somewhere on CIC website that we need to submit singed letter to request changes. So what I did was wrote a letter, signed it, scanned it and emailed them with the subject "urgent". They replied back the very next day that they mailed my passport to me by registered mail (address in India though). You can try doing this.

My patience is going beyond limit ...
I need these b******* to reply and let us knwo what is happening to our files.
Do we have to make a group and lets go to meet some one ...may be our Foreign minister..
This is not done yaar
Life is going haywire..
I do not have any ADr then ask these ppl to give me atleast some sort of detaisl on my file...
I feel like crying loud...
we both need each other badluy ...

Hello Pooja & RKS,
Yes this is painful and the process is getting slower which worries me more. As we have data of 438 applicants out of 5331 applied at NDVO last year, our sample size is 8.22%, and Margin of Error with this sample is only 4.58%. What this means??? Our data shows that about 87% cases are in IP or beyond state and with less than 5% Margin of Error we know for sure that 80% of total applications are in IP or beyond state.

With that we have known about NDVO so far, I'd assume that they will not do any more than they need to do to keep up with the current processing time. This could mean one of the two things, first NDVO will either close ALL IP and DM cases within 13 month mark from their application dates to maintain the current processing time, or process most of IP & DM cases along with some AR cases to meet the target (replacing any IP or DM case that is complex).

Does anyone know if NDVO provided any estimated processing time for remaining 20% applicants (which is 13 months for 80% candidates).

This certainly is tough time for us and I believe we need to come up with some innovative ways of dealing with it. Remember Tough Times Never Last, but Tough People Do

Link to spreadsheet with number of cases processed so far & rejection rate (Up to April 2014)

www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/000001-eng.xls

Looking at 2013 applications in this spreadsheet shows that over 70% cases have been completed with 83% acceptance rate.

thanks for the share.....very informative..
