You are lucky to miss the freezing rain and the power cut that followed. Soon you will enjoy the spring, you waited for the visa now you wait for warm weather but this is perpetual.

I haven't attested or notarized any of my documents, if applicant's documents are not in English or French then its need to be translate either in English or french and then need to be attested/notarized.

N in the fight I think they might have gave u declaration form regarding how much cash ur taking with u right??.....so u mentioned everything na........so wen u reached Canada no one asked anything abt cash......cool...

hey guys reached safe and sound.. ..immigration process was just 5 mins for me..........no issues no problem.....and everyone just smiled and welcomed ............OMGGGGGGGG its so cold.....
just one thing when u get the visa and the landing papers with that...whatever address is on that paper .........that's the same address where your pr card is mailed........by chance if that's not your address they provide u with a paper with the process to chg the address to send the pr card...either u fax them or call them and confirm the new address........... ;D that's all coz my papers had his old address ....... 8)

on flight they give u the declaration form where u fill up your name address bday etc .....if u have anything to declare go for immigration they stamp and send u to the other room where the officer takes the second landing paper with your pic stamps the 1st paper and gives u back and its done its the most simple process and I thought it wld be complicated no one asked how much cash how much jewellery all they asked was any goods to follow that's all ;D I had 3 very heavy bags so took the porter to carry my bags cost me 10$ gave him extra 10$ tip.........

I am new here. I can see from your timeline that you asked for a later submission of your passport. I wanted to know if there is any time duration to submit the passport or you can just give the passport to NDVO towards the end when they are ready to issue the visa. Can you please let me know the procedure that you followed?

Hi Maverick,

This is what happened in my case;

I received my first PP rqst way back in June 2013 and since I am living away from India, I couldn't risk being without PP for months and months.
So I made my lawyer to rqst NDVO that my PP wud be submitted at a later stage when they have almost finalized my App.
I don't have copies of communication between them, but my lawyer said I am all good and that NDVO has accepted the request.
In Dec 2013 NDVO has sent another email asking for PP and then I submitted it.
I was told that we have to wait for NDVO to ask for PP again and we shouldn't send it on our own.

I guess replying to their first PPR email by stating your reason for later submission request should work...

OMGGGG its so cold that I cant take it ...........its so freaking cold its unbelievable will get used to it in few weeks

congrats for safe trip..earlier in my post, I said your first OMG words after you land would be 'OMG it is so cold'..please wear layers of clothing so that you won't end up with hypothermia.....and frost bites on your toes and finger tips if you are not careful....

I received my GCMS 2 days back....Eligibility and medical is passed...Security and criminality not started. Interview waived and notes says relationship is genuine. Location of file: FCU-RFV. IP since 14th dec, 2013.
Did MP enquiry and got a reply that background checks are pending and there is no time limit for that. They asked us to do an enquiry in april after 3 months if its not done until then.
Don't know how long is it going to take now???? :'( :'(
