they are asking for the petition document which basically proves if u had children from previous marriage or not and if yes their details....they always ask this if this is 2nd marriage ........

petition or application is the same ........ document u filed with your ex or maybe your lawyer filed for the 1st time with both your signature and details of your children if u have any....

I agree with myrah that you need to ask your lawyer if you are not sure about it and you must have his signature to file the divorce.

but my ex never wanted a divorce, my lawyer filled it , he had 30 days from the day we served him the papers.i have submitted divorce certificate.

Thats pretty suck. Does your lawyer know that you submitted the divorce certificate without his signature?

my lawyer submitted the app, and the divorce order was sent on 22nov 2012 and divorce was granted on 22dec2012,i have submitted only the divorce certificate along with my sponsorship forms , not the petition.will that cause delays , I do not have the application with his signature, even if they request it I will only submit the application form filled by the lawyer, no sigantures on it , just details of both.

Oh kk if the divorce was granted then it's okay. You have to wait until they ask whatever they need your proof. Everything will be okay so only it will take a time. You can try the petition now as possible in case if they aak for it. Dont worry alot. By the way, can you post your timeline on the left side since you are already over 10 posts. No! They are working on May now so not yet June started. I guess you have to wait until January if you see any member gets an update.
