Objectivity if fine, but I think it is OK for people to vent their frustrations, and worry over here. We are all here to support one another. Though it is silly to talk about marriages ending though because of the wait. We all knew this would take time, and if you are already complaining 4-5 months in, then it's going to get difficult really quickly.
My husband and I had in our minds that we would be separated a year. That was the worst case scenario for us. The website says 11 months to get a visa for 80% of cases. So we just used this number. The wait was still difficult! So when he got his visa after 6 months, it was a bonus and a surprise. I think many here are setting themselves up for a huge disappointment by expecting a visa in 4-6 months. It's not the norm. You just have to be strong, patient, positive and hopeful!
