Objectivity if fine, but I think it is OK for people to vent their frustrations, and worry over here. We are all here to support one another. Though it is silly to talk about marriages ending though because of the wait. We all knew this would take time, and if you are already complaining 4-5 months in, then it's going to get difficult really quickly.

My husband and I had in our minds that we would be separated a year. That was the worst case scenario for us. The website says 11 months to get a visa for 80% of cases. So we just used this number. The wait was still difficult! So when he got his visa after 6 months, it was a bonus and a surprise. I think many here are setting themselves up for a huge disappointment by expecting a visa in 4-6 months. It's not the norm. You just have to be strong, patient, positive and hopeful!
Thanx bt skas its nothin related to the time n the distance...obviously I opted fr ths n I knew very well tht v had to stay apart fr a yr or so...Its sumthin related to the nature of sum ppl arnd us who cn in no way support us in ths bt yeah they try their best to make all efforts to make all ths even worst fr us....its just tht I feel I cant stoop down to their level n ths is wht makes me fell helpless....thts all abt it... :-[

Yeah, I know how things can be with family in India. Stay strong. We are all here for you.
I didn't mean this statement directed at you. There are a few others who have posted before that their marriage might not last through this process.

I think after your sponsorship is approved, staying outside Canada should not be a problem... even I am thinking of taking atleast 2 months of vacation and going back to India in Mid of October... infact I am thinking of taking a break from my work too... I wish to stay there until my wife gets VISA and return together... lets see how things go.

yes we are excited now. My daughter made a chain out of construction paper (I helped her as she is only 4), and each link represents a day. We cut a link off everyday so she can see how long it will take for her daddy to get here. Ten days for us until I go pick him up at the Toronto airport.

hello everyone,

I just called my local MP office to make an enquiry for the application status and the the guy on the fone said "we recommend you to contact in Nov 2013 since the posted processing time is 11 months".

Is there any other of getting that info...
or shall I wait...??
Any suggestions?

Believe me I know how it can be. My husband got a lot of pressure from his family and his elders. I think many thought that me and the kids left him there and never bringing him over. It caused him a lot of stress. And it's worse for him too, because I am not Indian nor the same religion as him. So his pressure was terrible. I'm sure he never told half the things his extended family said or thought about me. it was very hurtful and our marriage almost never survived that.
