Some things depends upon the place where you are going, you can easily get Indian products at affordable price in Vancouver or GTA but not at other places. So its better to bring some stock if you like them. Also one should buy winter clothing from there as buying from here in India is a complete wastage.

It's ok to bring some! But if your in a place with many indians, you're bound to find indian food and snacks !

Hi I have applied for my spouse immigration. CIC received my application on July 17 2012 I got a email from OttPilot on August 29, 2012 saying that I am eligible and my file has been send to Delhi embassy and from that day onwards neither do I nor my husband got any message from CIC. A week ago my husband received a call from Delhi high commission that he need to be present for the interview on 16th September 2013. I am glad that after a long wait a year after my file was been forwarded. Waiting for the day of interview but need to know if there is any documents that my husband need to take with him. We are not Indian but got married in India, we both are Nepali. So I wanted to know what kind of question will be asked?

waiting for your reply, Thank you.

Best Regards,

Roshani.

You could take any additional photos that were taken after the marriage, emails, fb chats, phone bills showing that you have and are in touch with your spouse. You can google interview questions. But i guess they will be based on your marriage and relationship. You can also consult a lawyer and they can prep you for the interview.
All the best and congrats for the progress of your file!!

Hey good luck to you and your spouse for the next steps.
I saw this yesterday - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spousal-interview-questions-t157678.0.html
hoping that it helps with getting prepped for some of the questions.

Buying clothes from India is useless, its better to buy things here

What I'd suggest is to bring the thngs where people don't realize the most

1) Mosquito Racket
2) Medicine - as many out with prescription only, they are required at many times - eg., Amoxicillin ( Antibiotic - given for dental an other matters ), Spasmonil ( Bad Stomach Ache and Cramps ), Crocin, Eye Drops, Balms, Soframycin ( itch, bites - this is the best ), offcourse any prescription meds
3) Please Please Please get your dental checked up - from root canal to wisdom tooth to cavity - seen people get lot of dental aches in this climate and it cost a fortune - so if you can get anything done there, do it
4) Any other issues from skin tag to itchy foot - get it checked there

It sucks to sit a doctors place who only has stipulated 20 mins to see u and will rush u off, its not like India where they talk to u and have great bed side manners ( but offcourse depends on the doctor )
5) Car Insurance - bring as much experience on paper so you get discounts, find someone who can do it for you
6) Maggie/Knorr chinese soups ( I adore them as you dont get the same here ), saffron if you use a lot

ya get all medicines etc....I have already got everything got all my teeth checked...pls guys very impt its too exp thr and its nothing like india..... totally agree user 828

I checked everyplace in Bombay thr is not a single place which sells winter wear ....and anyways pls buy it all winter clothes from Canada itself......u can save room in your bags for other things!

Mosquito Racket? funny....If you are bringing it, plz bring mosquitoes also coz there is no mosquito in apts n homes in toronto

Trust me, in summer - its come very handy, especially when you have lot of green around

1) mosquito racket: you don't really need that in canada !
2) Medicine is a good idea, but you can get many here at reasonable prices.
3) Dental is very important, it is very very very important, if it's something major, especially if you don't have any kind of coverage.
4) 20 min is a decent time for a doctor to check you with your problems, that's why they are there for you. There are a lot of good doctors around. You have to find one that's right for you.
5)car insurance is a good one, it helps a lot in the long run.
6) Maggie/Knorr chinese soups: You can get all that here at indian shops as well as canadian stores. There are lots of indian shops here in canada!

By the way, where you coming to in canada? or are you the applicant ?

I know it sounds funny but that mosquito racket is very very handy ( it's helped me a lot in Summer , near my porch )
Find me Knorr soups in Vancouver ( like Chicken Manchurian, Hot and Sour ) in Vancouver, places like Fruiticana. You don't get the same stuff what you do in India

I am Canadian Citizen. living here since 13 years ( 5 in Toronto, then here in Vancouver )

Yes it's quite difficult to get essential winter wear in rest part of India except in North's and very true you can save loads of space in your bags without winter wear which in any case you need to buy from there.

ya and anyways Canada has 1-2 months of summer...otherwise u always need a jacket so don't buy too much of summer wear....concentrate more on full sleeves and hoodies....
