This is not entirely accurate. Maybe you mean BFD (bring forward date).

Without knowing for which the due date belongs to, it is hard to tell imo.

For example, medicals due date is set for one year (also the validity). In any given GCMS notes, there are 10's of due dates everywhere and they mean different things.

More experienced member can correct me if needed.

Thanks,
I think that user meant what he saw the top, due date or assignment date. There is no more BFD anymore in GCMS notes, atleast not that terminology

families and reducing backlogs in Canada’s immigration system
Parent and Grandparent Program gearing up for re-launch
December 18, 2013 – Ottawa – Citizenship and Immigration Canada – By cutting immigration backlogs and wait times, the Government is bringing families together more quickly, Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander announced today.

Over the first six months of 2013, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) admitted 45,000 permanent residents to Canada in the Family Class (FC). This represents an increase of 40 percent over the first six months of 2012. This increase can be attributed almost entirely to a doubling of admissions in the Parent and Grandparent (PGP) category over that time period.

Canada has one of the most generous family reunification programs in the world, but growing backlogs in the PGP program meant families could expect to wait eight years or more to bring their loved ones from overseas. A pause on new applications, combined with high admission levels, has helped reduce the backlog. The PGP program re-opens to new applications on January 2, 2014. It will re-open with tighter admission criteria and a cap on applications, which will continue to reduce the backlog and improve wait times for families.

Application forms, guides and information on how to apply to the new PGP program will be made available online on December 31, 2013, just ahead of the PGP program re-opening.

Quick facts

In 2011, under Phase I of the Action Plan for Faster Family Reunification, the Government cut backlogs and wait times for sponsored parents and grandparents. Had no action been taken, it was predicted that the backlog could increase to 250,000 persons, with wait times of 15 years by 2015.
Of the 45,000 FC permanent residents admitted to Canada in the first six months of 2013, approximately 22,530 spouses and partners were admitted as permanent residents under the FC as well as 1,410 children, 20,700 parents, grandparents and their dependants as well as 360 other relatives and adopted children.
The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa remains a fast and convenient option for parents and grandparents who want to spend longer periods of time with their families in Canada. To date, approximately 28,000 Super Visas have been issued with an approval rate of almost 85 percent. With more than 1,000 Super Visas being issued monthly, this has become one of CIC’s most popular initiatives.
Quote

“Our government understands the importance of spending time with family and loved ones, especially during the holiday season. Our government is making improvements to the immigration system so that families can be reunited more quickly. Because of our changes, Canada is on track to welcome more than 50,000 parents and grandparents in 2012-2013—the highest number in nearly a decade.”

Not sure what you are asking but the following should help:

1. Medicals validity is generally 1 year (from the time ND gets it or thereabouts)
2. Visa validity follows medical validity and one should land before medicals/visa expiry
3. In recent times, CIC gave visa officers the power to extend the validity of existing medicals by requesting such extension. So far there is no existing data that any VO exercised this ability.

Hope that helps.
I am not sure a 100% but if NDVO has the authority to extend the validity of the medicals, why don't they do it? Garry Sidhu just had his interview and they asked him to redo his medicals because they were expiring in a month. They could have just extended it. So here I am thinking that NDVO cannot extend medicals.

I don't think it will have an effect. Only that India has banned tax-free alcohol to USA. But Canada is separate so shouldn't effect anything between India and Canada.

This talks about parents and grandparents only. What about spouses? Aren't they important as well? :'( :'(
What kind of improvements? So far there doesn't seem to be any.
Government doesn't care, just putting up a facade.

or they could have let them go to Canada before medicals expiry date..there was one case with a forum member..she was asked if she could make it before the medicals expire in 2 weeks and she said 'yes' and she was given visa...even if it is few days to leave, I am sure Garry would have managed to get airline tickets

What proof did you provided to prove the relationship???

To me it seems a quick arrange marriage.......if you don't mind can you share the date you & your wife met ?? and when the wedding took place ?? it may also help others.

I remember a person got an interviewed as it was quick wedding. The couple met and got married in matter of 7 days and the husband returned back to Canada after wedding. They filed an application after 3-4 month. Obviously, there was less time spend together after marriage which was the obvious reason in their case. BUT NOT IN YOUR'S.

This worries me a lot. Are n't all arranged marriages like that?

For example, my match was arranged by elders and although I had 3 months before the actual wedding, I could not take leave from work. There was December holiday break but I did not visit India. I was too busy preparing for the actual wedding. Anyway, all these three months, there were only two instances of Skype (as my wife does not have a fast Internet) however we had phone conversations amounting to almost 5 hrs/day on average. I have provided detailed billing from the phone company showing all the calls and duration. I provided all that. Then I met my then future wife 7 days before the actual wedding on Feb 14. Then stayed until March 4th.

Nevertheless praying big time that we will not be called for an interview. It would be bad.
