Hi all,

I have a ques..
I had love marriage.. My parents were not present at the wedding. With the help of other relatives, the wedding happened with full ceremony and more than 200 people attended. But due to internal politics my parents didnt wanted to be present at my wedding.

I submitted more than 200 pics of wedding/honeymoon/outings, all the proof of communication since past 3 years but I did not submit the any proof of my communication with my parents/siblings where they had all comments against my relationship... Is this sort of evidence necessary?

Do you think I should send them referencing my file number?

My file was submitted back in March 2013.

Sorry to hear your parent didnt attend the wedding. I think you should send them some sort of notification that they are aware of the marriage. Its really none of VO's business if your parents attended the wedding or not but it wuld definately help to prove the genuinity of your wedding

I think this is important that if your parents have attended the wedding or not. If this is not relevant at all why would CIC ask if the parents from both sides were present in the wedding or not (in immigration forms). This must have some significance on your application.
1 reason I can think of is that as most of the weddings in India are performed with your parent's consent and they are solemnized in front of all family friends and relatives (in most cases), then the question may arise that if your parents were not involved, how you have other family members involved in the wedding as you have the relationship with them because of your parents. So if your parents were not involved, then how all these family members/relatives are involved.

In your case, if your parents did not attend the wedding, you need to justify/explain that why they did not attend. If you provide proper details and proper explanation that why parents did not attend the wedding, then this will not impact your application at all. Your points must be valid points to justify this.

At the end, you both are adults and no one can stop you geting married. But I would suggest to provide as much details as possible to make your point strong.

I had provided letter describing whole situation. I had got signature of the members of my family who were involved in the wedding.. The only thing i did not put was a conversation with me and my parents and siblings. I don't have any prof of communication with parents as it was all verbal but I do have some emails which my siblings had sent me threatening not marry the person of my choice and had stated to break relationship with me if i had married him..

Do you guys think I should sent those emails referencing my file number?

If you are comfortable sharing all that information with CIC than it is fine I guess as this is your personal information/matter with your family.
If I would be you, as CIC ask to attach a separate piece of paper along with your application and provide any additional information that will help to process your case faster, I will put all this information on this and make them aware of the situation. Also if you have all the valid proofs for any situation, you can mention that the proofs can be provided if required by CIC. (or email communications can be sent, it wouldn't do anything bad. It will clear the overall case to the VO to understand the whole situation)

I would advise to make things clear before it is too late.

Senior members may comment on this.

Silly question maybe but I was sure that I read on the application that only copies of all documents be sent in the app. Unless otherwise indicated , am I correct? Like our marriage cert was a color copy .

Hello Guys,

I am a canadian citizen and got married in India in dec 2012 and i applied for my husbands spousal sponsership in March 25,2013 (as per cic). Our application has been approved and was transfered to New delhi on April 18,2013 and we also got a passport request on the same day. How long does it take for the visa's to be sent over to my husband in india? He is currently in India. And I am back to Canada.

Is there a time period when he should be receiving his visa's from new delhi?
Thanks,
Bella

Welcome Bella :) first off you've found friends amoung you and your situation . I'm no expert but I'm guessing minimum 4 months - up to 12? But most likely 6-7 months :)

Hello everyone,

Here is my situation.

I got married September 3rd, 2012 in India. I am a Canadian citizen and my husband is from India. We were first determined to get my India visa sorted and then apply for his.

Our timeline is the following
February 28, 2013 application received Mississauga, Canada
March 27, 2013 I received email i am a eligible sponsor file transferred to Delhi
April 19, 2013 My spouse is requested for his Police Clearance and Passport
May 1, 2013 - Delhi embassy received via courier (in the process to track it to confirm)

Status now is waiting..... I am also still in India now. I am currently 4 months pregnant. So my hope is in the next couple of months or i will be giving birth in India which is also okay, whatever is meant to be!

In our agent's experience generally 4-6 months is the waitlist from the start of application to receiving the visa for the cases he handles. His feeling we should receive visa in 2 to 6 weeks from the letter received. However, if indeed they are collecting passports earlier and holding onto them as indicated in the forum than that might not apply anymore. For now we are going on to 4 weeks of waiting and not hearing anything and 3 months since starting the whole process.

I've recently submit my application for Family Sponsorship for my husband

Courier arrived Missisauga office on May 22, 2013 .. so far I have not receive any letter or email of notification ..
we have a child who is 8 months old and a Canadian.. does this help speed up the process??

21 DAYS FOR THE APPROVAL FROM CIC. YOU NEED TO WAIT...

I am planning to invite him over once I am approved as a sponsor since he has only seem the kid two times and each time for a week .. can he wait for his PR while he is in Canada?? I know that he has to leave the country and come back again with the PR paper once it's approved ... would this complicate the process?? I read in some ppl's posting that the NDVO requesting passport months before actual PR is received/returned??
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR HIM TO VISIT CANADA COZ YOU ARE IN PROCESSING FOR SPONSORING YOUR SPOUSE. THERE WERE MANY CASES WHERE SPOUSE APPLY FOR VISIT VISA AND EMBASSY TURN DOWN THE VISA SIMPLY THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF IMMIGRATION...BETTER WAIT..

Thx for any information you can share!

btw. I have paid all my fee and he has done his medical at the end of April ..

I wouldn't say impossible , in fact it is possible according to immigration law- however it's virtually unheard of : like 98% chance they will deny the applicant. Main reason being that once anybody enters canada - there are so many ways that they can try n stay . And at this point they have control - so they look at it as RISK assessment, and in any of our cases here the risk is VERY HIGH. Normally to enter Canada as a visitor you need to provide so much evidence that you are simply that a VISITOR , that you have NO reason to stay , that you have significant ties to your home country. Even indian doctors with established businesses are denied ! And yes they no that risk is involved with students coming here , but I guess they look at it as well they are alone, young and educated so that's an area of risk that exists .
