Oh they are pathetic with informing us that they have received any info on our behalf... Wait for about 10 days or so and if the e-CAS website hasn't updated it yet send them a case specific email confirming that they received the update. They take a while to reply for emails but atleast you'll know :)
It took 4 mths for us . We updated my Spouse's Canadian Address . It will show on ur Ecas . Like for me , earlier when I checked the Ecas , it always showed my husband's old address , now when I log in it shows his new address . We had sent them a mail n we also updated it on Ecas .

Hope this helps u ...

I'm doomed
I got a call from Delhi today saying that because I stayed in Canada for almost 6 months after marriage before submitting the passport I have to go give my fingerprints which they will then send to Canada for a PCC... I have to go for the same on 2nd April to Delhi and from then on the fingerprint thing will take about 4 months... So I have no hope of getting my PR before August :(
I feel like dying... The light at the end of the tunnel has vanished
http://www.immigration.ca/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=30&PN=104&title=parents-spOnsorship-from-new-delhi-office hi I read your situation it might help you read pari member comment you will get your fingerprint done here in India send them to canada they will convert fingerprint into digital you will get your Pcc in 3days then on the day when u going to delhi submit it to them once again read username pari comment

Sorry to hear that. Why cant they ask you to apply and get the PCC yourself, maybe that will be much faster than the process they have outlined.
I wish I knew but apparently this is what has to be done... 4 months to process fingerprints! That's ridiculous! :( :(

Surprised........How they Came to know that you stayed over six months in Canada Because ethere is NO exit stamp in canada and if you disclosed it your self, it was clearly written that if you were stayed more than six months in any country you have to provide PCC of that country. I also got PCC from Canada but they never asked me to give finger prints to get PCC in Canada. It looks like they had changed their procedure now,,,,,,anyway...why on 2nd April?? you can go early if they did not giv any specefic date....

Good Luck
I did not over stay my 6 months... In fact I was there for 2 days less than 6 months.. I have no idea why they asked for this...

Hey zenn, I felt really so sad that again they are requesting you for more formalities to be completed by asking you for finger prints behalf of your application went to Inprocess so they might ask any one for more documents even though their status changes to Inprocess too so Guys and Gals beware of CIC especially those whose application's are Inprocess, they might call anyone at any time. Please check the PM in your Inbox.

My friend fingerprints doesn't take 4 months ..if you do it electronically, it only take 2-3 weeks maximum and they would send it to cic directly. I did this for citizenship so don't worry.. At least it's a very good sign that your file and passport are not sitting idle and they are working on it.
May be the logic they used is 180 days.. Good luck and keep us posted

Hey Guys! I have received my sponsorship approval on 26Feb2013.
For those who have got the passport request, please share your experience on the following:

1) How do one get the passport request? Through email (Applicant and the sponsor?) or snail mail?
2) Any recommendation on how to send the passport, a normal courier with an acknowledgement would be ok?

Thanks for your answers! Good luck to everyone on their process!

Hey... I'll try and do it electronically but I'm not sure how to validate that the fingerprints I'm sending are indeed mine... :( feeling so helpless

@Zenn This is ridiculous and really frustrating, esp. after such a long wait. Is there no alternative? You should write to NDVO about this

When you leave Canada, the border agent scans your passport. There's no stamp but there's an electronic record.

Zenn, that's really ridiculous.

Try if you can get them done electronically. Maybe it wont take 4 months but they must have given you a conservative estimate.

You can also ask your hubby to go to the MP and check if there is any alternative?
