Hi, yes thats a good idea.. i already have some 2 Lakh INR and another 2 Lakh INR in PF. I need to show 9 Lakh INR as POF.
if I mention the amount is from my PF, what sort of proof should I show ?
Kartheek, the way I was told is that you need to get an attested letter stating that you have Rs.X as your Employer Share and Rs. X as Employee Share. I had recently gotten that for myself and my spouse as well.
I am attaching my EPF cert here. There is no real procedure in place to get this. However, if you need to know, please follow this.
1. Write a requisition letter to the Assistant Commissioner of EPFO, Regional EPFO of your PF account.
2. Get a token done at the front office. Mind you, you may want to have all details of your EPF a/c. Tell him what you need. He will give you a typical Government office admit-slip and tell you which group you will need to go to.( as in which floor and all that)
2. Check with the PRO there and tell him you need a cert like this and don't be surprised if they say "WE DON'T GIVE ANY SUCH CERTIFICATES", just tell him that you need it for your Canadian Immigration. If you belong to Chennai, you should go to EPFO, Royapettah.
3. Get this letter sealed by the guy at the entrance of the office.
4. Once you go to the particular group, they may discourage you saying they don't give such certs either and that there is a passbook available online and that the whole world should trust that passbook even if they're not a part of India.
5. If they say no, please go visit the assistant commissioner. Especially if it's in Chennai, go meet the AC without hesitation and he knows all about this.
6. AC would ask you go back to the group counter and tell the concerned personnel. From then on, it should go smooth.
For folks that are not in Chennai, kindly type the following format in a word doc and take a print out of that. This could help them understand what you need.
P.S: I just noticed my image has not gottten uploaded. So here is the link to the image.
