Got a question...while landing for a short stay, why is it so important to have SIN number / card ! How about, if one applies for it later once he moves for goods ! Pls share

Its not important for short stay landing, but at the same time it doesn't cost you any effort...as its a 5 minute task. Its up to you to do it now or later.

If you applied for SIN/Opened bank account/Credit cards, and then suppose you move for good a year after,
you will have 1 years worth of credit history to your SIN, which is not bad i think

Rgds.

very true, so it's worth applying during the first landing, thanks

goods accompanying and goods to follow form - am I supposed to sign these forms now or I should sign them in front of immigration officer.

Secondly, what should I put at

1. signed at......should I write Pearson Intl or Saudi from where I am travelling
2. signed on.....should it be the date on which I depart or arrive at Pearson
3. signature of importer.....is it place for my signature !

Pls suggest. Thanks

How did you link the SIN with the bank account? I recall that i opened my bank account without a SIN (although i got my SIN later).

Well, SIN is linked, and it is against what our Banking, credit, Rental, Job (Etc.) history is recorded and maintained, it is similar to what we have in the US
the Social Security No. , thanks.

I don't see how your immigration visa will impact your job. Once you join the company the PRO (not your future boss) will take your passport to transfer new visa. They rarely open the passport to see other visas.

Besides even after you land, you have a grace period of 2 years to permenantly move to Canada.

Regards,

please suggest a tested and most reliable courier service that I may use to get my PR cards from Brampton to riyadh. Is it true that DHL Toronto has a special service for PR cards delivery outside Canada, thanks

Best way to look at this is:

See which courier service is considered the BEST IN RIYADH.

Personally, I would use Fedex or DHL, avoid UPS.
Or use Express service of Canada Post which will go through Saudi post in KSA........whichever method is used, use xpress and get a tracking number and highest priority.

Before they courier the card, make sure they keep a copy of both sides, and send you a scanned copy by email so you have it for your records.

No I received it myself, back then it took 3-4 weeks only.
Current time is 50 days for newcomers.

No issue in declaring it. Or u could just say "documents"
