No I received it myself, back then it took 3-4 weeks only.
Current time is 50 days for newcomers.

No issue in declaring it. Or u could just say "documents"

Current processing time is 61 days for a new PR card.

yeah thanks it keeps going up again.......sucks to be waiting that long for a status document

If u r getting entire family PR cards altogether at ur relative Canadian address and they r sending u via DHL (say) then that's great. Now a days the trend is that, they somehow withheld one of the PR card that requires either calling CIC or waiting for some more time.

So in some cases traveling without getting PR card is little risky!

you mean they just hold one of the cards to know if the family is around ! Did it happen with you ! I have only heard about few cases in which some photo issues arise, not matching specs I guess and have to send the photos again !
Fully agree, it's NOT worth travelling without having PR cards, lesson learnt.

i am not sure it is a trend, maybe it is just happening. we got our cards my husband and myself after 35 days. they sent them to our canada address my husband's uncle) than he sent them to us via DHL. you just tell them documents.

Neither any postal issue nor was it any photo problem, as we were not called for new photos. When we kept chasing CIC, we were told that verification purpose, it is delayed for 45 days.

Actually, newly landed immigrants, when complete their landing they go out of Canada soon. May be, this is one of the reason to ensure people to stay more, at least to get PR then go out! But we didn't go out quickly. No idea about delaying reason.

It has to do with quality control they do on some cases to perform internal procedure checks.
