Hi All,

but below is my current scenario, and need advise from all of you , please help........................ :( :(

I am the principal applicant, me and my family are planning to travel in the month of July. My husband will stay back, and find for a job, me and my daughter are planning to come back in 15 days time.
>My question is will 15 days enough to finish all the initial formalities ? you will get the SIN number directly (they cancelled plastic cards)
>Is it mandatory for the Principal applicant to be available to receive the PR Cards? no it is not mandatory since they will send it by Mail, you need to give them an address while landing

Thank you
Swaru

Hi Guys,

I am travelling in few days and my spouse and children will accompany me later after 4-5 months. I have a question regarding POF's..

My consultant told me that I can carry upto $11500 CAD as of now as I am travelling alone.
So guys plz let me know is it enough to carry $11500 CAD as of now. I read somewhere that I need to carry all the funds as we are a family of 4, I need to carry $20,599 CAD.
You need to take the full amount as per your family size. Your consultant is providing u the wrong information.

The principal applicant is required to show the proof of funds for self and family members at the time of entry. After you are issued with a PR card, he will not be asking that from your family at the time of their entry. So logically, it seems that you should carry all money with you. Later on when your family travels, you can send to them a canada bank statement to be on the safer side. But going with insufficient funds could be risky than going with extra funds.

Only PA has to show POF upon landing. Family coming later do not need to show or worry about POF.

Hi,

For all those who have already flown from India. Please advice me if while taking flight from India, does any body ask for Income Tax return formalities to be completed before leaving India? I remember long back at Ahmedabad airport we were stopped and asked to wait until nth moment to board a flight to Canada as I did not have a IT return filled though I was just a student but over 18 yrs of age...

Is this still an issue?

Also, do the security guys not allow us to take any eatables during flight like say bread jam, paratha etc? My daughter is 4 and she may not be really on for the flight meals, so i was thinking of carrying some cooked stuff for the flight duration...

Please advice.

Shef

It looks like life is harsh in Canada too... Being skilled immigration one can't get job in Canada even.. Harsh winters kill I think asians..LOL..

I wish a meteor hits earth and everyone will die at once.. All game over. Let the life restart new way because human is dangerous than animal now.

We have to ask our-self how many sins we have done in life. The list will never END....

I am quite happy to live. I am enjoying in Canada. Found the job also. I am Asian but have not died of cold. If you are not happy, make a wish to die alone. Make your own game over. There is no need to wish a meteor to hit Earth. This is a forum where immigration matter is discussed, find some other forum where sermons are served.

Canadian winters is not harsh (at least in the Vancouver area). Only about 3 times snowfall this season. You probably just land in the worst part of the country. For now, enjoy the lush green grass and warm afternoon sunshine 8)

Sumitk12345...Where you came from? Im Asian and not afraid of any extreme cold in Canada. We are resilient in nature. :) :) :)

I don't know what you are going through as of now but I guess you missed out on how to appreciate the life you have compared to others who don't have any chances to look for what is best for them because of so many factors beyond their control like people living in Africa and those victims of civil wars.

At the end of the day, life is beautiful for me buddy.

Hello Shef

Perfect timing of your landing in Toronto. Although it is still cold but it is spring already and summer is coming and will be a good transition of your settlement.

Share you experience especially on your job search buddy. Explore the place, it is quite a big place. :)

Good luck!
