My background check wentt from in progress to not needed at this time

I found some useful post in the thread of November AOR applicants.

On Dec-15 my notes show that R10 OK and that was the day my bg status changed I guess it means your application is complete if it changed to not needed

That's exactly what I supposed. The BG check happens when application is complete.

I though that ECAS - In Process happens when R10 OK is done. Isn't R10 check done by CIC and then moved to Ottawa for processing? I was hoping for something substantial like eligibility check completed when status moved to NN. Wishful thinking, I guess. ;D

My change to few days ago in not needed, I am Sep so lets see maybe some good news next week.

Changed status from in process to not needed at this time yesterday

No other changed except medical passed last month.

I think there should be some explanation for this status change on the CIC website... To determine if the transfer from Ottawa to a local VO or what.

That would help to determine why it happens to some people after 2/3 days versus a longer time and how additional document requests affect the timeline

ITA - Dec 18th
AOR - Jan 9th
Review in progress
Medical passed - Jan 11th
Background check in progress - Jan 14th
Background check not needed at this time - Jan 16th

I guess we just have to wait and see.

Others took longer to change. Don't think we have been able to establish a pattern as yet regarding the reason behind the change

My BG changed from In progress to not needed at this time, just now.
Here is my timeline, what do you think please?

AOR: 9 Oct 2015 - PNP -
Medical: Passed after like one week from AOR
Annex 4A asked and provided: Nov 2015
IMM 5669 E : Schedule A - Background / Declaration asked and provided: 23 Dec 2015
BG in Progress: 6 Jan 2016
BG not needed at this time: today 18 Jan 2016

got my notes today,
my file also has been moved around due to " workload (re)distribution" as someone had previously mentioned.
I think it is the reason why we have had the issue of the bg check going a step backwards. It is an educated guess however and can not say it with certainity

Any idea, how far your application assessment reached before being reassigned? and was there any movement after the day your status changed?

Jan 04: CELPIP requested
Jan 05: CELPIP submitted
Jan 07: Background check "In Progress", Medical "Passed"
Jan 09: Background check "Not Needed"
Jan 14: Background check "In Progress", Medical "Not Needed"

hmm, that's a bit discouraging. I wonder why some got reassigned and others didn't. But I guess there isn't much we can do about it. Thanks for letting us know.
