Hi there. No I did not. In my version of the checklist, IELTS is not required. I submitted my visa application on March. However, effective July 1, 2012 IELTS in now required for certain occupational categories.

How many days were you given to complete your application and sumbit it to the CIO?

Good day to everyone!

I applied through online application for MPNP last August 2012. After 48 hours, they replied via email confirming that they receive my application and also, included on that letter was my File Number. But the file number that i received was with a 2 letters and a 10 digit numbers.
I just want to know, how will I be able to track my application.

Yes it will be with two letters in front, I supposed it is MB......
After few days they will email your sponsor to send in sp2 and supporting documents like citizenship

The LOA is valid for 6 months. It is stated there that your visa application must reach CIO before the expiry date.

Hi mhersol. Regarding the mailing labels, I just printed my mailing address on a bond paper, cut them about 4 in x 6 in, and placed double sided tapes at the back. I think you can also use printable sticker labels if you have them. When it comes to the envelope to be sent to CIO, the guide says we use a 9 in x 12 in envelope, which is equivalent to the short brown envelope available here. I followed the format in the Guide P7000 Step 4 - Mailing the Application. Note the difference in address if you will submit via regular mail or via courier. The green sticker naman, I just placed it at the upper right hand corner of the envelope. The instruction from MPNP is simply to "attach the green sticker label on the outside of the envelope." MPNP also says we must place the LOA on top of the application package, but I followed the CIO checklist which lists the LOA at number 11, right after the copies of passports. Hope this helps!

Hi Carl Zeiss, just would like to ask.. did you stick the green sticker on the DHL envelope or to the envelope where you put all your docs?....

Thank you very much!!!

Hi there. I placed the green sticker on the brown envelope where my documents are. I put it on the upper right hand corner. Good luck!

Hello! Unfortunately, General stream is only avail via mail app. Online apps are for Family, Employer and Strategic Initiative. You only need one friend under GS, but you have to score 55 points and above.

friend sponsership general stream is closed (closed two years before), only blood relative or family based can apply for MNIP.

Hello! I'm a newbie. Here is my application track:

10/15/12 - Sent application online (FS)
10/15/12 - AOR
10/15/12 - Sponsor asked to send S2
11/14/12 - Sponsor sent S2
LOA -

That's it so far. I really admire the way people help each other in this forum. Keep up the good work and goodluck to all of us!

Please, comment my answers to settlement plan and give some advices.

I am applying online through Family Stream. I have 2 years of work experience as a construction electrician.
Settlement pan asks the following:
- What steps will you take to meet the requirements for working in this occupation in Manitoba?
Possible answer: "I will find an employer who agree to hire me as a construction electrician apprentice and I will register as an apprentice. As I have experience in this field the overall length of my apprenticeship will be reduced"
- "If your occupation is regulated, can you start the licensing process before you arrive?"
Possible answer: "As I don't have 6 years of experience that is required in order to be eligible to apply for Challenging the Exams - Trades Qualification, the only thing I can do before I arrive is to study an employer market in electrician field and start looking for a prospective employer before I arrive in Manitoba".
- "If your occupation is regulated, in what related, non-regulated occupations could you find skilled employment in Manitoba based on your training and work experience?".
Possible answer: "To work in Manitoba as a construction electrician apprentice the license is not required, it is only required to register as an apprentice. However, there are occupations such as construction electrician helper and cable splicer in which one can work without registering as an apprentice."

Please comment on my answer and give some advices.
I am worried they wouldn't consider me as a skilled worker as I don't have 6 years of experience required to challenge th examination for Trade Certificate.

Any comments are appreciated.
