Hi holygun,Holygun said:When did you submit your application?
Share your timeline please thanks!
Just as an update, I sent them a case enquiry email after passing my due date in December. Now after almost one month, I received this following routine email back.It sounds the external agencies doing the background checks are delaying the process.Hopefully this gets done soon.
Wish you the best in 2014,
Amla
Good afternoon,
This is in response to your email (see below).
The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act requires that each person applying for a visa to Canada be screened in many different ways, including health, security and criminality.
Background checks or further investigation are necessary in relation with the processing of your and / or your spouse's application. Therefore, the time needed for the processing of this application has fallen outside the timeframe set out in the Acknowledgement of Receipt letter.
Often, delays in the processing of an application are out of our control as some processing steps require coordination with external authorities.
Our office will contact you and / or your spouse as soon as all verifications are completed, or as soon as more information, documents or an interview are required.
Thank you for your patience.
