When did you submit your application?

Share your timeline please thanks!

Hi holygun,
Just as an update, I sent them a case enquiry email after passing my due date in December. Now after almost one month, I received this following routine email back.It sounds the external agencies doing the background checks are delaying the process.Hopefully this gets done soon.
Wish you the best in 2014,
Amla

Good afternoon,

This is in response to your email (see below).

The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act requires that each person applying for a visa to Canada be screened in many different ways, including health, security and criminality.

Background checks or further investigation are necessary in relation with the processing of your and / or your spouse's application. Therefore, the time needed for the processing of this application has fallen outside the timeframe set out in the Acknowledgement of Receipt letter.

Often, delays in the processing of an application are out of our control as some processing steps require coordination with external authorities.

Our office will contact you and / or your spouse as soon as all verifications are completed, or as soon as more information, documents or an interview are required.

Thank you for your patience.

Really? Are you pulling our legs? Are you for real?

Congrats Holygun. Your case is indeed an exceptional one. I'm happy it has finally been resolved. I will advise you to apply for GCMS note a week after you do your landing. It helps in knowing what the officers were doing before they finalized your application. If they just abandoned the file or if the security was actually delayed. 6 months after you become PR, your case file will be destroyed and you'll no longer be able to log in to ecas. So it is always advisable to have a record of your file with you.

Goodluck & Congrats once again.

I applied for GCMS 10 days ago... hopefully I see everything on the latest one... I might re-apply to get the final version.

Dear Seniros,

I would like to ask if the copies mentioned in the Document Checklist are to be certified i.e. Certfiied True Copies. Or will regular copies suffice?

If it says copies; it means photocopy the document and send to them. No certified copy required.
