Thanks tweety for the quick response. We contacted the helpline number in Manitoba and I was advised to take the ielts exam. He said that I would need to have an average of 6.5. Is ielts difficult. I hope I will get that score since I will only be doing self review. Do you happen to know the timeline for general stream. Thank you for the wishes also. God bless us all.

Ohhh...did they raised it to 6.5 this time? it was just 5 band score at the time of submitting my applications (april 2012) ...well just concentrate more on your review and just enjoy ur exam...for sure you're going to pass it !!

Hello to all!

I am a newbie here.. As i ve mentioned before, we are going to apply under MPNP-GS,, my wife will be the principal as she has 2 friends (more than 20 years) there. I have some questions with regards of POF.

1) we are based in riyadh, we have savings however, it's not enough.. her brother is willing to help us by transferring some amount we needed , at least US$16,000. question is, as mentioned sa CHECKLIST the bank history should be 3 mons. Will it be a problem if her (my wife) brother will transfer the fund we needed is recently?? Do you think it will not be a problem when the officer sees that our fund is just deposited recently?

2) we have a mortgage - our house & Lot is still on amortization and we are still paying, 2-3 yrs remaining.. the amount that we already paid for is P1.1M (more or less), remaining is P300T,, the property is still under the name of the developer?? it's not ours yet coz of the balance.

Indeed, MPNP requires 3 months bank statements, if i were you, just deposit the amount of money from your brother-in-law to your account in saudi arabia and wait for 3 months before you can request for the print out of the statement... another thing is, even if you have small amount of money in your account, it doesn't matter as long as you have land titles, stock certificates, etc. that can cover the amount required by MPNP will be ok. cheers.

Hello Ton,
Per your inquiry, I should suggest to do the transactions or transfer the money you have mentioned as early as possible, let the fund be reflected in your account or under your wife's name bec. she's the principal sponsor, atleast you meet the required amount..but make sure that the account you are going to use is NOT so recently opened, it should be atleast 3 month-old...then try to organize all the required documents (with all the authentications, notarials and others)... it's better if you will apply after a month or two to avoid inconvenience on your part...but if you are really eager to do it now, why not? for sure if you will submit your application this month, the same will be reviewed and assessed after 3 months...hope it helps !

We have savings account but the amount is just honestly US$3,000 coz we do spend more in our property, also we are still helping our family/relatives. I have been in the kingdom for 17 years, my wife is 7 years bcoz she came here after we got married in 2005, but she's been working for 11 yrs in the phils (up to 2005) and 4 years (as a teacher currently).

Is there any change in this policy.

hi tonlot2012, the bottomline here is for you to have enough funds to apply, it's ok to have $3,000 in your bank account right now.. but the remaining funds required must be produced... hope and pray that you will have the funds required the soonest, for you to be able to apply at the earliest. Bout' your house, much better if you're not going to mention it in the detailed POF coz maybe it will affect your application. Also, if you are still working in saudi arabia you can request a certification from your comapny about your end of service award it will really helps a lot... it is one way of accumulating POF. regards.

'Bit confused of your statement my friend...let me put it this way...in a most recent process I understand that, after getting LOA, which is tantamount to passing the nomination from the respective province you are targetting to work and live in, you need to proceed to the next step as to apply (CIC) for your visa before travelling to Canada, that visa application (Permanent Residency) must be done "outside" canada, logically you can't go to canada without it...maybe you are saying is: once you got LOA and at the same time you obtained job offer then this procedure will be applied " the MPNP may issue a supporting letter for a work permit application" or probably, if you are so lucky enough and got a working visa first then landed to canada, afterwards, your PR wil be processed "inside" canada while you are working using working visa...hope it helps !!

in summary, do it " slowly but surely" as it says...

w/rgds of certificate from my current company, i just joined the company recently but been working in various companies for 16 years, EOS is not applicable yet..

Thanks for your prompt reply.So after getting the PNP, I can travel to canada only if I have a job offer.

I wanted to travel at the earliest after receiving my LOA. Could you please advise me the best options that I can take up. Also, is it possible to travel and search for a job there after receiving the LOA.

I work for an IT giant. They have offices in Manitoba too. All I wanted to know is whether it is possible to travel after getting the LOA.

i don't think you need to do the transfer of funds in "staggered" basis...if you can do it at one time, why not? remember that these people (immigration officers) have been trained and gained advanced knowledge in the field of investigation and "fact-finding"...so even though you plan / strategize to deposit it by installment basis...will not guaranty of approval..they will render their judgment based on the merit of your documents according to their standards and procedures...just follow correctly what have been mentioned in the checklist and provide truthful documents...and the rest is prayer...cheers !!

So it is all good. It really takes approximately 6 to 7 months to get your nomination for the General stream.
