We receive 2 client ID numbers: the first one is the sponsor ID, the second one (and the one referenced by Quebec on CSQ) is the Russian spouse ID. They both remain valid throughout the process and they both appear in CAIPS/GCMS notes.

Just to show you how updated eCAS is, Visa was approved May 5, no indication as of this day.

Wife is landing on Monday!!! EEEEEEEE! :D

Wow!!! Congratulations Shawngt2. I can't believe e.cas for being this useless ... Thanks Ubernemo for the info...

Congrats Shawn!!! 8) You're welcome Fazimy! :)

Thanks! Remember gents, Tallen went through hell just like we all did, eventually it all ends and we're all happy as #*@! :)

Hello Shawngt,

I thank you for all the positive postings you always wrote, you were very helpful and cheerful all the time . We are very happy for you and your wife, and tomorrow the great day is there, how lucky can you be. I wish you a wonderful future together with your wife. We are now waiting for that day to come although we were a little ahead of you with our application, you beat us in the end . We had the CAIPS note's last week and it was positive. I found out that when you are given 30 days to send requested documents it will take them the full 30 days before they start the file again. This way you lose a full month.
Its been good knowing you by means off this forum, hope to hear once in a wile from you.
Hanmar

Wow! Amazing news. Congratulations Hanmar. Don't worry she will make it.... By way do you have the answer for my posted question below? Thanks! ;)

CONGRATS Hanmar!!!

Fazimy: to the Moscow office as everything except sponsorship (and your CSQ of course) is evaluated.

Hi guys,

I was reading your thread and I liked the ubernemo's tips - very helpful to prepare and to start life in Canada. I would just add two more things to his collection - if you can, it's best to do your academic credentials evaluation in advance - it can take up to 10 weeks to get the evaluation results from UofT now. (it's essential if you plan to continue your education in Canada or apply for jobs, as recruiters /hr can ask you to provide it)

you can also get your driving license in Russia before you move to Canada, as it will take around 8 months to get G2 driver's license after you pass your G1 and get your learners permit (can't drive without fully licensed G another driver who's holding full G for at least 4 years now). after you get your license in Russia, you can get authentication of your driving experience in the Russian Embassy and prepare for G1 (written test) and G2 (road test) directly with no 8 month waiting time. more info here: drivetest.ca/en/license/OutOfCountryDrivers
we all know, driving is an essential part of living in Canada .. and looking for parking spot is a national sport! ;)

hope this helps :)

Thank you Ubernemo!

Hi All :)

I just stumbled onto this site and registered on trakitt today. (I wish I had found it sooner!)

Congratulations to shawngt2 and Hanmar.
Hanmar's news was especially encouraging for us - as our sponsorship was filed the same day as theirs (though our Moscow processing started a few days later)

As it is for everybody else, the waiting has been enormously difficult for us.
We haven't been able to get any meaningful info from the visa office, and we have considerable logistical problems to solve before the clock ticks down.

my questions for those of you who have gone before:

Exactly what does it mean - "Your file is awaiting selection decision"?
Does that translate to 'another month'? 'Another two months'? 'Another six months'? ??? We got that terse little email back TWO MONTHS AGO. Can anybody here help to put it into perspective for us?

Medical report expires on JULY 13th. The official documentation is ambiguous and even downright contradictory about what the medical expiry really means in terms of our logistics. In one guide it actually states "you have to start the entire application process from the beginning". I can't believe that... but on the other hand, there is no clear indication of what will happen if we are still stuck here by the time the medical expires.
Assuming perhaps the visa was issued a few days earlier, can they just rubber-stamp extend it for us on the basis of humanitarian grounds?

Or do we really have to go and take another medical exam, and wait for it to go overseas and come back? And if this is the case - "THEN WHAT HAPPENS"?? How much more processing can we expect before we can get the visa "re-issued"?

Our medical runs out on June 8 ,we got request for passport on May 23th , have to send by pony express( it must be a real pony it takes 10 days to return!!!!!) . if everything is going OK we can have the passport back by June 6 Our travel agent promised he would have a ticket for my wife on the 7th if needed . We are keeping our fingers crossed.

Waiting, I would suggest you send for CAIPS notes it gives you a lot of information , and maybe send a mail telling them your concern. Our experience has been not bad. a friend of mine works for immigration in Toronto and told me Moscow is behind with the applications!! I am sure you will hear soon.
