I didn't either. I wonder if it's for all cases or just appeal cases. I know that CPC-O (Ottawa) now tries to speed up the processing of successful appeal cases by kicking off the security and background checks for successful appeals. CPC-O also does the full processing for low-risk successful-appeal applications at CPC-O instead of sending the application back to the originating visa office. I wonder if they also kick off medical requests so it's all ready for the visa officer or just have them processed in Ottawa.

Has anyone done medical exams recently in Mexico that got that info from their Panel Physician? Not that it really matters since it's internal and you can even have the medical exams performed anywhere but it would satisfy curiosity :)

How do you know this? Is there an article or something? I'd certainly love to read it if you have it. Thanks!! :D

It was in phase two of CPC-O's pilot for appeals cases - see the Bulletin issued on May 6, 2011 see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2011/ob305.asp. :D

My SO's also got sent off to Ottawa and his was done in April.. I am not following here, what does this mean? I thought thats how it always was.

Mexican medicals used to be sent to the Port of Spain Regional Medical Office, now they are sent to Ottawa.

Ok they didn't mail a letter. I've been checking since they supposedly sent it on May 16. It's June! And USPS runs on Saturday! So there's no way it would take that long to get here. I know someone in January who never got an approval email or letter. And now their VO has no record of their app. Bummer. :(

So what does that change mean?

Therein lies the mystery. With all these office closures and CIC reshuffling going on; may mean slower processing of meds as time goes on ... or not. Perhaps ties in with the new medical extension provision? Who knows. Will have to see how it all plays out.

Me neither, sistah. But by the end of this process, I suspect I shall have mastered the art!

LOL! So true, both of you.

Like my friend always says: "God please give me patience, because if you give me strength I may just beat my enemies to death"

In all seriousness though, this experience has changed me, in one way or another I think that my perspective on life is somewhat different now. I tend to appreciate what I have even more and I've become a more ambitious person (same with my wife) Life will be on Easy Mode once we're back together 8)

lol! I like that one :) Since I know how long sponsorship aprroval is taking these days, stage 1 has been surprisingly easy for me.. I think I will start to become less patient when I know our time is almost there, and deft once it gets to Mexico City I will be on edge, lol. We have come up with a solution for the PGR and SSR though, we will be flying my SO's mom to Mexico city when the time comes to get it for us. It will much cheaper, plus she gets to see all her family - doesn't get any better than that! Now I am off to start collecting and researching about visitor visa extensions, fun :P

p.s something that always keeps me going is know that even though this process may take a long time, it is something that will help your family your whole life, and you honestly can't put a price on that (for me anyways) bring on the wait times, CIC 8)
