Hey guys. Any news?

Only 11 more days and I am on my way to Mexico to spend two weeks with my husband for some much needed vacation time together. Yay!

The application has now been processing since February. Sigh. But, I guess therein lies the danger of comparing processing times with others. It takes as long as it takes no matter how much time is spent wishing differently! As the MP's office likes to remind me, the fact is we are still within the "average" processing time for Mexico! So there it is. Not much else to do but wait our turn.

SO. As you know, the medical has expired and we were seriously contemplating going ahead with a re-do before it is requested. However, the doctor's office is now insisting that the form from the embassy has to be provided before they can proceed. And I emailed the embassy asking if we might have confirmation of the number needed so we could go ahead with a re-do on our own. The embassy replied "strongly advising against" proceeding with a re-do without the request forms to do so.

I just re-read the country specific forms for Mexico regarding the medical instructions and I'm quite positive that these instructions are different than when we submitted the original application. Is it just me, or is this a new thing for Mexico: "...instructions for this examination will be provided after your application has been assessed by a Canadian Visa officer". I really don't recall reading that before.

Thoughts?

Upon just reading the "RTFM" riot act on another thread, please feel free to ignore my recent post if the question therein appears to fall in said category. Kindly use the forum search feature to locate the topics. C'mon. You can do it. :)

That said, I did in fact RTFM. But, clearly I FSS (forgot some sh*t) and MOT (misinterpreted other sh*t) while simultaneously MTDDM (misplacing the damn dummies manual). In the end I thought to myself, WTF (google that yourself) and decided to CMMH (Consult My Mexican Homies) for a more learned opinion.

I believe now would be a good time to SSA (skulk sheepishly away). LOL (self-explanatory?).

And to all a good night!

;) ;D :-*

LOL! I am glad you are keeping a sense of humour through this lengthy process. I can't believe you didn't memorize the entire manual! All kidding aside, I read your earlier post and checked back to the country specific guide that I had saved to my computer last year, and indeed it does say to submit the medicals with the application.

Have fun in Mexico!

Well, seeing as the immigration ledge is getting a bit too crowded, I figure laughing is the preferable alternative :)

Thanks for confirming that I hadn't misread that evil manual. Really, it always feels like I'm finding something new in there. I guess that's cuz I am LOL

Can't wait for Mexico. It would be really nice if the first and last post I make in the new year is announcing PPR !!!!

@Islenio

Yaaay I got AOR today but I'm a little confused. They sent me instructions by mail of how to obtain the carta de antecedentes, I thought they sent the instructions by email to make it faster. Anyway the part where I'm confused about is the part where it says>

In order to expedite the processing of your application, we are requesting that you provide or do the
following as soon as possible:

• To facilitate matching of documents requested, please attach a label with your file number
on the top right corner of each document that you sent to our office
• Immigrant visas have a validity limited to one year from the date when the medical
examinations were initiated or the validity of the passport, which ever is first. Please
ensure to have a valid passport. No extensions are granted once visas are issued.

Does it mean that I need to get ready with my passport in case they do the PPR?? or does it mean that I can send it now or send it with the Carta de antecedentes??????

Sorry to ask, I'm just excited to get AOR!!!!!

It basically means you need to have a passport ready for them when they ask for it. The embassy does not want to wait for you to go and get a passport if you do not have one, or if yours will expire soon. They will not give you an extension once the visa is issued.

You do not send your passport now

You do not send your passport with the Carta de antecedentes

You only send the passport when the tell you to send it.

I hope this helps, Good Luck !

ReginaC,

We got the instructions by regular mail too.

Check this page from the Mexican Embassy to get the documentation ready:

http://embamex.sre.gob.mx/canada/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=169&Itemid=41

We used the service from the Mexican Embassy and got someone in Mexico City to request the document for us, once he receives the document, he will deliver it to the Immigration section.

Hope it helps
