I have a client ID already. I had it from my previous visits to Canada and I have use it several times. I am talking about the sponsor questiannaire form, quiestion 11, where they ask for the sponsor´s address in Canada, i forgot to write it down(i helped him out as he is diable). I am going to send a letter saying what happened and hopefully they will see it, if not, there is nothing i can do. thanks a lot for your suggestions.

We sent the state police certificates with our application, and we did get it translated. I think you only get the federal ones once they ask you for them, because they give you instructions on how to get them.

I´m not sure about this, but I think the criminal record could affect the application depending on what he actually did and how long ago it happened. I don´t think the sponsor´s criminal record matters because they don´t ask for any police checks for the sponsor!

Good luck!! Hopefully you hear some good news in about a week!
Oh god, i did not send any police certificates because i contact CIC through the call center and they said i should wait till they ask for them. Lets see what happens. Now, i just hope they will not send my app back because i forgot to fill out the question 11 on the sponsor questionnaire. Well, just where they ask for the sponsors address in canada. Freaking out. Take care.

Hello everyone! :) I landed as a permanent resident a year ago. My girlfriend has visited me several times with her temporary resident visa. We will get married here in Montreal and we have decided to apply for her permanent residence in Mexico as it appears to be faster according to what I've read here. My question is: while her visa is being processed, can she come back to Montreal as many times as she wants as long as her tourist visa is still valid? Or must she stay in Mexico and wait for the process to be over?

Thanks a lot!

If she has a valid multiple entry visa, it may be OK.
At the end is the port entry officer's call
Some people here has been able to do it, you just need to proof that she will come back and have your sponsorship paperwork available if needed.

So I am just curious, how much does the medical for sponsorship cost in Mexico? I am getting all sorts of different answers and would appreciate first hand experience

Depends what doctor you go to, they are all different! We went to one in Mexico city in Polanco that cost something like 1200 pesos with everything.

Refer to the DMP list for Mexico and shop around for quotes - prices vary. http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medicalinfo.aspx?CountryID=2041&CountryName=Mexico

OK so I think you are saying that CPC-M received your file on October 13th. If that is the case yes you have a little more waiting to do before you will hear something about your sponsor approval. I would think that you should hear something before Xmas.

You are supposed to provide police certificates from any Mexican state or foreign country that the applicant lived in for more than 6 months (including undocumented stays in the USA if applicable) with the initial application. If the applicant has only lived in Mexico City (DF) their whole life then there is no initial police report to send because Mexico City only uses the federal report.

The Embassy will give you instructions for the Federal police report after they receive your file.

Concerning Translation I believe that the police reports should be translated if they are not in English or French

Concerning an Applicants criminal inadmissibility you may want to check the FAQs here

Frequently asked questions: Overcoming criminal inadmissibility http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/faq-inadmissibility.asp

A sponsor may be deemed ineligible to sponsor because of a criminal record when they (the sponsor)
"were convicted of a violent criminal offence, any offence against a relative or any sexual offence—depending on circumstances, such as the nature of the offence, how long ago it occurred and whether a pardon was issued

or are in prison

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-who.asp

So the criminal record of both the applicant and the sponsor are important.
thanks a lot for your help. I have sent an email to CPC M to see if they could correct the mistake on my app. Hopefully they will. Sadly, they have not emailed me back. My husband phoned them today and they said to send a fax with a cover letter explaining the situation. They do not guarantee anything. Oh, my file has been opened, my husband now has a UCI (i already had one). I am confused now. So, your file being opened has nothing to do with being assesed?

I would've been very much OK with paying 1,200 for everything like Nessa did, but no, there was only one doctor in my city and he works at the most expensive hospital complex there, so I paid 2,900 total. Still not much for someone used to U.S. prices, but certainly no joke for people living in Mexico.

Hi sorry, you are talking about pesos, correct? Wow, 2,900 is a lot. Which city did you go to do the medical if you don't mind me asking?
