Hello! Good to see you back.

I hope your trip went well and you and R were truly able to enjoy his intro to Canada.

The request for proof of common-law relationship is not standard (AFAIK) - I imagine it's either a human mistake (e.g., clicking an extra box for the automated e-mail) or somewhat concerning (usually, they only request additional information if they aren't convinced with the information you've sent).

I would order your GCMS notes (since it will take 30 days to get them you want to get the ball rolling) and also send them a case specific enquiry to see if they give you any insight as to whether it was an error or they really want additional info (and perhaps on what their concerns are). Given your story, I have to imagine you have more than enough proof you can submit so it's just a matter of seeing if they want more or it's just a misunderstanding.

Thank you sooo soo much. I'm so sorry I haven't been around. We got back from our canada trip and i left right away back to Canada for work and have been working crazy ever since. Will be heading back to Mexico tho on oct.20th and looking forward to getting updated on emails and blogs! haha.

I'm going to order those notes. Question for you though, am i requesting electronic AND physical file? It says that I need to accompany it with the use of a rep form. I sent one to Mexico City already, do I need to incldue another do you think or will that one be sufficient?

So i would do "access to information act and the privacy act form" and fill this out, put all his information and my name for the requesters info http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf "

Thanks :D :D

Hopefully you both had a lot of fun :)

Just order the electronic file - it's faster and should have enough info to be able to see if there's a reason they asked for the notes. Include a copy of the use of rep form you have - I realize it's really hard to get a new one. If they want an updated one, they will ask for it.

Hello guys!

Hey quick question....

I was reading the guide for the sponsored person and it says that:

"All the documents that are not in english/french, 1.-should be translated and 2.-should be accompanied by an affidavit from the person who completed the translation and 3.- a certified copy of the original document. //

That means that our marriage certificate, my birth certificate, IFE, etc etc, since it´s in spanish should be translated to french, about the affidavit we can waive it, right? (or not?) since we have a woman who is certified by the "tribunal superior de justicia" and has translated official canadian documents form my wife for the INM pourposes. But what about "a vertified copy of the document"?

How did you guys certified/translate documents in spanish to send in the application??

Any advice?

(btw, im Debora´s husband :p)

Thanks!

Ok cool :) I'll do that and cross my fingers. Sadly i don't have either document and my lovely man doesn't even know how to log into our gmail account at this point to get an attachment and sign and scan it back to me lol. oh dear <3

The appointment you have should work, but they have been known to ask for 'updated' or more specific letters.

Sorry you're having to deal with this snag - fingers crossed that it works out with minimum hassle :)

Eduram and OhCanadiana,

I would like to thank you for the quick replies. I guess I am going to just have to wait. It has been about two months since I was approved and I guess I just have to keep checking back to see if there is an update. Hopefully this process doesn't take too long.

It brought hope to see the processing times apparently going down on the spreadsheets.

Help!! Just got an email from the embassy. The confirmed that they have recieved both police reports but my spouses medicals are still pending, they asked for us to submit all information about the doctor we went too. Should I scan and send the receipt they gave us which states the doctors name, receipt, my spouses name, etc and then write it all out for them aswell?

This is beginning to make a lot of sense now. :(

Oh no!! that's the hold up!! I would totally send it in, can you contact the dr and find out where they sent the medical to? We figured out after that the dr we went to sent the medicals to the wrong office.

now you know why though!! that's great! one last thing and then you're done! I'm glad you got a response!

oooh geez, hopefully its a snag that can be worked out quickly. Odd though since you have to submit the green medical form with your package that has all that info.

Considering all the letters people have been receiving about missing forms and documents, makes you wonder if something happened like someone dumped thier coffee on a bunch of files or something.

My pleasure :)

Also, friendly reminder that by applying inland and having completed step 1 you can now apply for a working permit (if you wish) and in several provinces you are now eligible for health care also.

Yes. Do they have the tracking number? If so, track the package and print out the confirmation that it was received by Ottawa and send it to the Embassy together with Appendix A and the contact info of the physician as an e-mail or attachment to a case specific enquiry.

They probably just haven't matched up the medical and the application (the results need to be manually transferred between systems) but if Ottawa received them, they've processed them so it's just a matter of getting the details matched up.

Okay talked to the Doctors office again, they wont give me the confirmation number because they sent in a bunch at the same time. So I will be sending in all the proof I have that my spouse completed it and the date they said they sent it. OhCanadiana, do you suggest I reply to the email they sent me, or do a case specific enquiry?
