This is where "Ambiguous" best describes this process. The 30 days are not from when CIC asks you to leave. They start sometime after they make a decision on your case. Some few weeks after the hearing, but they never tell you "Mr. ---- starting now, you have 30 days to leave" For example, We applied for Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds, but that doesn't stop the counter on the 30 days, yes you can stay while it's being processed, but time is ticking anyway. So either way refugee claimants are screwed. I've gotten so many confusing answers from CIC that I'm not even gonna try to fight it. I'll just submit what they ask me for and hope for the best.LeisaP said:it is! and according to cic website, you are only asked for an arc if you were deported
this is what it says for departure
1. Departure Order (form number IMM 5238)
a) If you received a Departure Order and
left Canada within the required 30 days and
verified your departure with a Canadian immigration officer at the port of exit
you do not need an ARC. You may return to Canada subject to normal examination at the port of entry.
b) If you left the country without verifying your departure, or more than 30 days after the Departure Order was issued, the Departure Order automatically becomes a Deportation Order and you need to apply for an ARC (see point 3 below).
we did A, but for some reason the person filling out the paper circled depature becomes deportation on our certificate if departure..
i dunno if they put it in the system like that or if they just circled it on the paper.
because we have a letter that says we have a departure order to leave canada no later than march 31, and we left march 31. so technically according to the website we shouldnt have to get an ARC...
but it seems like cic and cbsa arent following this rule :-\
