No I don't think so. I sent mine through Canada Post express, and the date that Miss. says they received it, is the day that Canada Post says they delivered it.
Hmmm, highly annoying since that puts us almost a month off of when they actually received it, although when I called in to CIC they said they had received it on the 17th of April but ecas has May 3rd. Not even going to try to understand !

No, you've had enough irritation for one day. Don't even worry about that. :)

Hello everyone,
I posted some of this on the March topic but wanted to post here to ask for advice for my husband in Mexico.
So we received a letter for the fingerprint based police certificate from the RCMP.
Does anyone have experience with a Mexican citizen who lived in Canada for a period of time and is required to provide this?

I am slightly lost and they do not have a contact phone number to reach them at all. They gave 120 days to get this done and from my understanding if you do have something on your record (which my husband does) it can take more than 120 days.

Plus we are working on the Mexico security clearance at the same time which we have only 60 days for.
These timelines stress me out when your dealing with these places in Mexico and Canada that you can never reach!

Please anyone let me know if you have experience with this fingerprinting RCMP certificate !!
I have heard that that cic does the canadian check inside canada on their own. and they only request an rcmp certificate from you if something shows up on the check. which in your case you said your husband has something on there, im not sure how severe or simple it is. but in this case if what ive heard is correct it will take 120 days or less. it shouldnt take longer than that. most people who get rcmp check it takes about 3 months.. 90 days.

which is a long time and i can see how the timeline is stressful. but you can always hope it will go faster. some peoples have because there record showed up with something not severe.
:)

Yes. as of what I have been told by a few different sources.
if the applicant lived in canada over the age of 18. you dont need to send in an rcmp check with your application
cic will conduct one on their own, seeing as its easy for them i guess to do it internally, just type the name in the system and see what pops up.
anyways if something comes up on your record, they will request an additional rcmp check, i guess this one would be more in depth to see what happened with the charges and the threat of it and such.

I am not sure if this relates at all and cant remember if you are both in Canada or not. But a friend of mine (Canadian) was immigrating to Australia. She did her RCMP fingerprint and records check (infact had to come back from Australia to do it). She had said if she applied from there it would take approx 3 months, if she applied within Canada (which she did) it takes two weeks, and she did get it in two weeks.

Yes that sounds about right from what ive read on the website for the RCMP. Unfortunately my husband is not in Canada and he would need a visa to come here which he cant get.
So he needs to mail me his fingerprints then I need to send this to Ottawa and the back to Mexico all in 120 days… from their website they say it takes 77-120+ days sooo I really hope I can figure this out in the next couple of days and hope they send it to me under 120 days otherwise there’s no way ill make the deadline :( im getting worried… I have no idea why they would give me such a tight deadline for something that’s so out of my control

I wonder if after you send them in you can request an extension on the deadline by explaining that they need to be obtained outside Canada and you require extra time for processing. Anyone know ?

This could be true but for example step 1 with CIC for me I went over their timeline and its just very scary as it says if you pass the timeine they will assess your file only on the information they have at that time..which could cause the refusal of the application and if that happens we would have to submit a new application and pay the processing fee again... scary!!

It was pretty much the same as Chuladaa´s. Except they only asked for the PGR because they still hadn´t made the SSP requirement yet.

But it was the same, it was an AOR and at the same time a request for PGR and it also said they were sending the letter by mail the same day.

We did not get the option of a waybill or anything! So if you have that option I would definitely take advantage of that...because it seriously took a month and a half to get that letter in correos de mexico and they only give you 60 days from the AOR/PGR email to hand it in! And they were sending it from Mexico to Veracruz...that´s like 5 hours away!!!
