This could be true but for example step 1 with CIC for me I went over their timeline and its just very scary as it says if you pass the timeine they will assess your file only on the information they have at that time..which could cause the refusal of the application and if that happens we would have to submit a new application and pay the processing fee again... scary!!

Hi Chuladaa - order the RCMP police certificate as soon as you can and then just let CIC know that you've submitted the request (send them a copy of the request and courier tracking info through a case specific enquiry). Let them know you'll submit the certificate as soon as you get it back. In all likelihood they will immediately grant you an extension; if for some reason they don't, it will be in the record when they review it so they'll know it's on it's way. In other words, as long as you act soon and show them you did, you won't get refused based on the RCMP processing time. Just don't delay in ordering

Well, it seems that progress is being made at cic. I checked the website today and it is showing that they have finally received my husband's medical report. Hopefully this means that we will be hearing some good news very soon.

We hope so! That is if they don't require an interview. We will see... But we are excited that it seems to be moving forward. I am visualizing the PPR letter to come this week (gotta put those positive vibes out there!).

Seems that all of the airlines are doing it now. I was jokingly telling my sister that the next time I fly, I am going to wear all of my clothes at once to avoid these crazy fees, lol! Actually, maybe I wasn't really joking at all!

Wow, it took them six months to update that? And yet some people's get updated right away! I guess I know not to worry then that mine doesn't show medicals received yet.

Tomorrow will be 14 days. (They said 20, but dunno if that includes weekends of not). Anyways I really hope I hear back this week.
Sunday was not a happy day. I'm getting really frustrated and I spent a couple hours crying to my hubby.
This is a very stressful process I just want to hear something so badly.

Has anyone had to get "finger prints for non criminal purposes" in Mexico?
My husband went to the police in Playa del Carmen and Cancun and they are saying they dont have a form to do this on and that he needs to provide one.
This seems odd to me considering they put finger prints on everything in Mexico!!

Don't worry, I'm sure we've all had our breakdowns. At least you are with your hubby while you wait. I know it's frustrating because nothing seems to be consistent, so there's no way for you to set realistic expectations. Hopefully they will respond to you inquiry soon. A few ideas:
- The FBI has forms you can print out online - you'd have to check if the RCMP would accept them on regular paper (vs card stock)
- The FBI will FedEx you fingerprint forms if you provide them an account number, et (otherwise they mail them regular mail) if you need FBI prints.
- edgarsitow got his prints for the FBI taken at the PGJ (IIRC) ... he may have some additional ideas from researching how to get his prints taken in Mexico City

yes and i am soo thankful for that!. he keeps telling me "at least we are together"
yeah its frustrating when before he had to come back we had so many plans and everything is just put on hold. it would be nice to hear some sort of news
