You may want to ask the Mexican Embassy for help with the SSP certificate also (based on CIC's instructions).

"Certificate from “Secretaría de Seguridad Pública” (SSP)

The SPP certificate can be obtained:

    In person in Mexico City at the office of the SPP located at Xola 324, Colonia Del Valle, Del. Benito Juárez, México D.F.;
    Through a close family member (spouse, common-law, parents, children), possessing a power of attorney, at the same office in Mexico City;
    [u][b]If you cannot get this document through a family member and you live outside of Mexico, you can request the SPP certificate at the closest Mexican embassy or consulate."

Don't get your hopes up (last I heard they were saying no...) but please try (at the very least you can help try to set the foundation for future applicants by having them either start helping or have them tell CIC it isn't possible for the Embassies/Consulates to do it)

Back to Canada now. Finally received the sponsorship letter, so I finally have our application number, but there's nothing new on ecas. I thought I could change his address online, but it just takes me to the contact us page. Would you do a case specific inquiry to change address?

Yes we will call them and ask today! Did you hear from other people on the forum? If that is possible that would be great. I wonder if the PGR office will be open for Quintana Roo, if soon, we may have to avoid the Mexico City trip all together

Just called the mexican embassy in Toronto .. They wont process the SSP, they said to send a family member to Mexico city. Oh well, it was worth a try!

Tried it again today, doesnt seem to work. With the two last names, do you put a space between them ?

Can someone please remind me why I got the sponsorship approval from ottawa instead of Mississauga? I remember reading it someone but cant find it now. Whats the difference between the two, if any?

no difference mc1234....just some files got sent to ottawa because mississauga is so far behind......

I just got back from the Canadian embassy. I went to hand in my FBI Police certificate. Hopefully this is the last document! How long do you guys think it will take for me to hear something?

Nope didnt work, although someone in the April thread mentioned that maybe its because his Canada ban from deportation is not up yet, his one year will be over on August 16th so perhaps we wont hear anything till the ban is lifted, seems to make sense...
