I can finally see our application on e-cas and it says application recieved April 23 2012, I am so happy!!!!!! :) I know its not an approval, but I am grateful for something :)

Congrats! :) Sponsor approvals coming soon now!

You can now be sure they have it. FWIW, you'll usually get the e-mail a few days before decision made shows up. And it can take a couple weeks so don't drive yourself nuts (not that I can stop you from 'refresh,' 'refresh,' 'refresh'....)

I can't even remember my dad's phone number, but I've memorized my UCI, File number and virtually every tracking number I've had with FedEx and DHL. So sad :( LOL.

Hey MC so I tried to check ours to since my hubby also has a client # from previous visa's, so when you entered the number do you include the dash, I remember there being some talk about this awhile ago. Also do I enter my name or his name, I tried with his information but nothing worked, perhaps just not updated yet.

I did exactly like how canadiangirl says to do it - dont worry it will show up soon!!!

Indeed - the answer is yes. If you've lived somewhere over 6 months after turning 18 (16 in some cases) you need a Police Certificate. T]
Thanks a lot! Well, I have contacted the German Embassy and I have all the requirements now... It´s a bit of a hassle to deal now with an additional country´s burocracy but I hope this will get sorted by mid August and we can finally send our application forms... Anyway, thanks a million for this guys!!! There goes good karma for all of you!!!

I wanted to tell you guys that today my husband went to the embassy and picked up his passport with the visa in it and the arc approval :). I have a question, after the landing, how do you apply for a pr card and in how long can you get it?

Awesome!

You give the VO at the point of entry a Canadian address, they will mail it out to you. You don't have to do anything. Right now it's taking 46 business days.

How does the ARC look like? What does it say? Without including personal info of course. This info would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone!

I am finalizing my outbound application (Mexico City) to sponsor my SO, and with any luck will mail it off by the end of the week.

The question I have pertains to my current address. We are currently both in Canada, however have decided to go travelling starting in September for 3-4 months, at which point I was planning on using my parents (in Canada) address. I don't want to risk missing mail from the CIC.

Should I...

1 - Should I submit the application with my current address, then submit a request of address change when we go travelling in 2 months time. If I have not recieved corespondence from CIC can I still use the change of address application on their website?

Or

2 - Submit my parents address on the application initially and include a letter to explain where I live now, and how starting September we will be out of the country traveling

Any sugestions would be appreciated. :)

Hey.
We were in the same situation.
We were living in canada and applied 3 months before we left canada.
And we put our mailing address as my parents house so we wouldn't miss any info.
Plus the change of address sometimes doesn't go through. Or it takes 15 days or more to go through.

I would suggest putting your parents place for the mailing address from day one. So there is no risk of lost paperwork :)

I am approved as a sponsor! I just got the email from Ottawa, its now going off to Mexico City - this is fantastic news!! :)
