Damn right this is our batch! ;) My dad just called me to let me know that my uncle already received my FBI record request :D So he'll be mailing it out today or tomorrow.

Awesome, that's not too bad. I'm still wondering how/if they're processing my ARC. They haven't asked me anything about it and I'm really hoping I don't need to submit one as that would just add unnecessary time to my process. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks!
Edgar you might want to ask your uncle to scan a copy to you before he mails it. I noticed in our GCMS notes that when we submitted the scanned FBI it was noted on the record; as well as when the original was delivered at the counter. Can't hurt.

No no, my uncle lives in Tijuana, he's giving it to my dad today after work and my dad will be mailing the document overnight to me, then I'll make a copy and take the original in person to the embassy. I never mail anything to the embassy lol. I'm too paranoid they might "misplace" something.

Ok good - I was worried when I read "mailed". I'm glad I'm not the only one paranoid about mailing things directly to the embassy!

Proactive. A week or two before Edgar's was requested, we decided to go ahead and get it updated given our propensity for hitting snags. Even if it turns out not to be needed, it helps a little to feel as though we are doing *something* everything we can to speed things up.

Fixed it for you ;) 8)

Congrats. Excellent plan. I'm still hoping you don't have time to move apartments *fingers crossed*

Good suggestion to send a scanned copy if you have it already, Edgar.

I'm not sure the average, but i do know that it really varied depending on the doctor. For example, my spouse was 1800 pesos at one location and 2500 at another 20 minutes away. The kids exams varied from 90 pesos to 800 if I remembering correctly. i'd recommend calling around and going with the best price. Also inquire as to if that includes the DHL fee, we were charged on top of all of our exam fees an extra 700 pesos for them to send it DHL to Canada.

Goodluck!

I had the first FBI mailed to me in Canada. On receipt, I scanned it and emailed it to the general enquiry address stating that the original would be delivered in person by my husband the following week. I then couriered the original to my husband in Mexico and he dropped it off at the counter. I found it interesting that GCMS noted both the receipt of the scan and the in person drop off with a verbatim transcription of my covering email. It struck me that the notations in the GCMS would stand as significant proof of compliance should the original happen to go "missing" at the embassy or in transit (god forbid, after all that work!). But, you just never know, eh? I guess that's the overly analytical paralegal in me talking.
