Your wife's visa will be issued very soon. :)

After VO recieved confirmation of a new medical extension valid from here to a decison made its just a very small step.

These are the exact words on our gcms.

Notes: 3 (July) said "PRV X3 Visa Issued"
Notes: 2 (August 2-) said "correction... "Medical Results Expired. No Visa Issuance. For Remeds or Extension"
Notes: 1 (August 29) said "Instructions Noted. Email sent to Medical Section to request for Medical Extension"

but unlike some who had received correspondence from the embassy, we didnt receive any... and if I am able to understand it crrectly, for now, our medicals are currently being reviewed for Medical Extension, and if we are lucky enough, there will be no need for us to do our remeds, which is good because aside from me, my 2 toddlers are also included in the application.

Hey guys,

Wondering if you can help me with protocol on medical extensions/ furtherance. As you can see in my timeline, my medicals are about to expire imminently. What I was wondering is, what are my next steps? I was told not to go and do a further medical without being requested. Is this correct? Looking at the spreadsheet for my VO (London) as a U.K Citizen who had their file transferred July 9th, applicants are starting to receive COPR's in and around the date of my file transfer to London. Just wondering where my medicals may place me in relation to COPR being granted?

Many thanks :D

Hello ! here in our country Philippines, in my case i waited VO to inform me to do my new medical. As you can see on my timeline my medical expires May 26, 2012 then I waited VO to inform me and yes they sends me URGENT letter thru snail mail Aug. 23, 2012 then Aug. 30, 2012 I went to my DMP i gave them the MEDICAL REQUEST Section A Client Identification & Summary with the IME number on it, this form was the form that VO sends me it has picture on it of me, to do my full medical examination again.

In your case pretty sure you're one of the Applicant who'll get a medical extension. I think you've read the Operational Bulletin on CIC website.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp

Reassessment of a medical file for the issuance of a new medical certificate

Summary

Effective June 1st, 2012, officers can request that an applicant's medical file be reassessed by a Medical Officer (MOF) or a Health Branch (HB) delegated staff for the issuance of a new medical certificate. The process applies to cases where a final decision of an officer is pending only due to the expiration of a medical certificate or when the validity of the medical certificate is about to expire and the applicant is unable to land before it expires. This process is limited to applicants who had a routine immigration medical examination (IME) done by a panel physician within the last 15 months in or outside Canada. The new medical certificate issued will be valid for 12 months.

Issue

This Operational Bulletin aims to standardize the reassessment of a medical file for the issuance of a new medical certificate to ensure alignment with the legislation while fulfilling departmental operational needs. This procedure is limited to situations where the final decision of an officer is pending due only to the expiration of a medical certificate. If anything else is pending, the officer should not use this procedure.

It's hard to say, every VO operates differently. If your processing was completed, your VO may have issued the request for extension and could be waiting on a response before sending PPR. Others send the PPR and let you know that the request has been sent. You might want to email your VO stating that you know your medicals are about to expire and are wondering whether you should redo them or whether to await an extension. They will sometimes reply to let you know the status. So far, it's been taking 6-8 weeks to receive this extension, if you are able to redo them and get them into your VO sooner, then it might be the way to go. But try to get an answer via email first. Good luck!

Our extension was requested Jul-24 and received Sep-13. I have no idea why this process takes so long, it was better when we could just redo them ourselves. I think you should be fine to get through before year's end, hang in there!

that's what im saying. why not just redo the medical and prints rather than wait weeks for the extension to be approved.
would it be a problem to still complete the re-do? are we allowed to tell the VO that it's ok, we'll just redo the medical to avoid the long wait?

In theory, it's not a problem at all. The catch is, some DMPs won't re-do the exam without documentation from the VO, and of course the VO won't send this to you if they're requesting the extension. This was the situation we ran into, forcing us to wait it out. So it all depends on your DMP. If you can get it done, then by all means go ahead.
