Sorry for the waiting, I guess now its more difficult than never...the last step of your husband's application.
There is only a few day to wait.. .

As for me when I will get PPR letter, I am planning to go by myself to the Embassy, I will spare myself from a few more days of anxity...

Hi I.N. yes it is harder now than before (if that's possible) as its so close yet feels so far.. no end date that we have yet. very frustrating to say the least. I know some things have been moving a long but , gosh just to put things into an envelope and send it out how hard can that be. ???

Thank you for your response. My VO never sends anything by email, and rarely sends mail by post. Most contact for the applicant is done by phone also. There are a number of us with expired meds waiting on PPR and not one of us has received any confirmation that an extension has been requested. We are all wondering if Kingston will take advantage of this new allowance or if they will continue to demand re-do meds...

It would seem this new medical extension is not going as smoothly as thought? I don't know as it seems an awful long time that we have been waiting 8wks for this to be final..... hard part is waiting and then harder still is the not knowing.. I hope you hear something soon.

I really don't understand what the hold up is. I mean it's a new process, so they can't possibly have a backlog or anything. I agree that waiting at this stage is even worse. To be so close and being held up for such an arbitrary reason! I'm gonna be right if we don't get ours by month's end.

@Jamgirl, our VO emailed us to say that the extension had been requested. I can't say whether it was the sponsor or applicant, as we're using a joint email address for this process, so the two are the same

Do remember though, that the VO can only request the extension when the med exam expiry is the ONLY thing preventing issuance of the PR. Therefore, if your file is still being processed, they won't request the extension

so if I am understanding correctly, if my VO approves us within 3 months of meds expiry, they can request the extension. Were you notified that you were approved at the same time of notification of the meds request? or before?

Correct. We got the email saying that they had requested the extension and that a letter had been sent in the post "requesting documents to finalize the application". Letter is yet to arrive, so I can't quite confirm what's in there yet :-\

Have you had any news on where your application is at?

my MP did an inquiry in June and it said that there was a prereview in April and that it is in queue for review.

?????

Its just a bunch of blah blah blah to me...

I wish they would have given me a real update like, "in background check stage" or "selection decision complet:, something, not that tho... funny thing is, same day my MP replied to me, KGN added my hubbys address to his ecas.

I have ordered my GCMS notes and they should be here this week

I know what you mean, their feedback is always so cryptic! Don't they realize that if they just gave people simple, straightforward updates, we wouldn't be calling n emailing n such?

We ordered our gcms notes as well, twice actually. Wasn't much of use in there, save for confirming that someone had at least opened our file. They say the gcms format is supposed to be more user friendly, but personally I think the old caips format was much more informative. I hope you get yours soon n with some useful info in there!

Hey Zouk, I got them today and everything looks good... I posted more about them in our forum...

I will reorder again soon as my husbands medical expires on August 21... In Jamaica, we can reorder meds with out the forms from the VO so I might go ahead and do it as I am not like the waiting time on the extension requests...
actually almost tempted to send him before the meds expire so they know we did them and dont bother with the request lol

I totally agree, if you can redo them on your own, then that sounds like a plan. We tried, but POS had already sent the request for extension
