what i need to do?

If I were you, there were a few things that I would do (but only my two cents)

- Go to this website https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do, use your UCI (Unique client identifier) to check if an AOR has ever been issued on your citizenship application. UCI is the Id No on your PR card if you don't know. If the citizenship application has been issued AOR or in process, the results will be returned.

- If nothing returned from ECAS, call IRCC one more time to have the latest update on the application if an AOR has ever been issued or if your application has been returned?

- If ECAS didn't show anything, and no luck in getting helpful information from IRCC, I would just submit a new application with an explanation letter.

I can view my and my spouse ecas however I am still unable to view my kids ecas status. My kids were born in UK. In place of birth I cannot find the option of UK. Which option should I choose, I am confused.

You can choose England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland depending on where in the UK they were born.

6 months and waiting for AOR is really strange. Here are two things you can do besides submitting a new application :

a) Go and make a complaint at this link

https://secure.cic.gc.ca/feedback-retroaction/feedback-retroaction-eng.aspx

b) Write a registered snail mail with signature addressed to the CIC address in Sydney and wait for 2 weeks, then contact CIC agents and let them know about your case and your letter.

Then, you could submit a new application. Before you do anything, check the ECAS and also check if you by mistake entered a wrong date of birth digit.

Do you call them again? I called a week ago but they told me the same thing. that they have the file if they need something else they will sign me. I asked why I had no AOR they say it's not open yet. I understand nothing

What in the world is happening with Toronto applicants. Its a struggle since i ever started my immigration journey from Toronto. Always the last. With more applicants, more fees, more revenue, more taxes we would expect more resources (test centers) to support higher volume. I get it for the centralized processes which require fair allocation across Canada. But for a Toronto specific test..... Its like standing in an economy class queue with same number of check in counters as that for the business class but with the same ticket price....

I'd suggest we have a new post called : Toronto applicants
Since GTA takes more than a year at least, while the rest of canada only takes 6 months to finish the whole process

My worry is that I need to go out of country for two months (Dec & Jan). Should I call and ask to push my test date?
That is exactly my situation. I am getting married and wont be in the country dec and jan. The person that I talked to suggested that I block that time off so when my turn comes for a test date they will know when to allocate it. They will do it either before or after my blocked dates. The other option is not saying anything getting a test date and then having to write a letter explaining why you can't make it and then you will have to wait for another test date. I ended up blocking the two months for me it is better to be safe than sorry.

Congrats and smooth sailing hereon. Do let us know when your ECAS gets updated and what date it showed for the test update versus the actual date the test was sent.

So, I was monitoring to see when ECAS would get updated and it is there today:

We sent you a notice on November 2, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on November 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us. (I actually received the notice on November 5th so for me it wasn't that different between when they say they sent it and when I received the email).

Good luck everyone, and hopefully Toronto gets there soon!
