Greetings,
My wife is a canadian citizen and our child as well. We are living in Colombia at the moment and we are going to start the process of sponsorship outland. We have a question, she has a student loan that has not been paid yet or any payment plan set up. So this would be an issue to process the application????

As scylla anwsered when you asked the exact same thing:

Quoted from your thread:
It depends. If the loan has been outstanding for a long time and she has to declare bankruptcy when she returns to Canada - then yes, this will impact her sponsorship. Otherwise no. If you plan to make Canada your home, she should make arrangements to start repaying the money she owes.

Anybody here whose application in Ottawa VO has get some updates from ECAS?

I am still "Application Received" with two lines, one saying recipient day on 05/19/2015 and another one saying Medical Record has been received. I have even no idea when the application package has been sent from Mississauga to Ottawa? Would it be lost by CIC on the way?

It's unlikely it was lost since they send them together in a large batch, together. We don't get AOR2 for Ottawa, but if you're worried, you can order case notes. I ordered mine at the end of July, and it shows the date it arrived in Ottawa.

Chin up! :P

Hi guys!
We received an email requesting:
'1. An evidence that my sponsor intends to resume residence in Canada (i.e. evidence that she has set up residence, proof that she has looked for or secured employment, etc.)
2. A copy of all pages of your passport by mail, e-mail (warsaw-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca) or by fax.
Please provide the above within 30 days from the date of this correspondence.'

Question 1:
My wife didn't look for any jobs yet. I am a bit surprised cause they took only 49 days in Warsaw to send us this email and we were expecting to get it at the end of October or maybe in November. We looked for apartments online but didn't send any emails to real estate companies yet either.
We will look for both asap/this weekend but is it going to be OK if we start looking for an apartment/job for my wife only now and send these details as a proof to WVO?

Question 2:
Do I consider WVO asking for a copy of all pages of passport as PPR? Or do they ask for copies of passport first and an original passport later on?

Please help.

Q1. It is all you can do but start now. If it was me I would include an updated resume which is typical of what your wife is sending to. companies. And names of companies where she is applying. Perhaps website names of jobsearch sites that she is now active in. And website or address of an apartment building with vacancies in the town you will move to. Well, that is what I would do.

Q2. Is Poland a country that Canada does not require a visitor visa? If so then this is starting to sound good thqt WVO wants all passport pages. Is it getting towards normal processing time for WVO?

Good to see some action in the May 2014 thread after a few days of silence. Good pluck

Thank you for the answer.
No, Poland is a country which doesn't require a visitor visa. Polish people can enter Canada just showing the passport, no visa required.
Is the WVO going to ask me for the original passport later on?

Hi, if we own an apartment in our place where we intend to live back in Canada but now we are working in the United States, how can we convince VO more about the fact that we will surely get back? A definite job offer? But that might be too costly. You need to go on-site interviews and may be found being interviewed by other competitor companies by your boss. That may even destroy your current career!

We have provided the evidence of our plan to resume the residency in Canada in the application package, such as my wife has been looking for a job with some specific company as well as the email correspondences, and her mother's letter about wanting us back. Will VO ask for more solid proofs?

What is CAIPS? Googled it and sounds like a private immigration service company? Are they reliable and recognizable by CIC?

yes. order notes to know what exactly is happening to your application.

You get them via email. They come from a CIC address. Mine came from ATIP-AIPRP @ cic.gc.ca.

I think it takes a month after ordering them to receive them, so hopefully you'll see something in the next week or two. I haven't heard of anyone getting them before 1 month. I think they automatically send them out as soon as it hits a certain number of days passed.

Good luck!

Basically it's the actual notes on your file from the Canadian government...which you can access under the Freedom of Information Act....you can order them directly from the government....search this forum using CAIPS / GCMS and you will find links showing instructions etc.
