Congrats to all with SA. Finally we get a little bit of movement in the May group. :D

Just curious: for those with the letter/email, does it say anything about your application being sent to the next VO (and which it's sent to)?

All I have right now is verbal confirmation from the CIC employee on the phone that my SA was approved. Sorry for the otherwise obvious sounding question.

Yes mine says it's been sent to London Visa office since my wife lives there.

So we received word today. We have SA, but the letter states:
"Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in London for further processing. This visa office was selected based on your relative’s home address and the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act."

So I guess this means our application is going to London? I've read elsewhere they usually provide you with an address.. so that coupled with the wording that they had to send it to London due to a law requirement has me a little confused as some applications are being handled in Mississauga/Ottawa. Will we recieve an application update after this stating the location, or is this it? Just wanting to know whether we're in it for the long haul of 8+ Months.

Thanks!

Its been 41 days and I'm still waiting on AOR. I put my email down and they have my address..

I'm May 26 and people after are getting thiers.. I couriered it to them and had a signature so I know they got it..

Glad to see SA starting for May's.

Don't worry about it. I know it's easier said than done. I never received my AOR either. Funnily, I never received SA letter/email either, but the call centre agent confirmed that I was approved as a sponsor on June 22, and then my wife got AOR2 on July1st. We are April 28th applicants btw.

Random question: does anyone know or ponder how representative the members of this forum is to the entire outland family class pool that CIC has to go through?

I am hoping that most of us get DM before VOs slow down for the holidays...but from the way SA is going, I'm a little apprehensive. Predictions? :-\

Thanks . I am just worrying but I hope it will be here this week. I have seen some people say they got their AOR and then SA almost right after, and others say they never
received AOR at all for outland so ... I will just sit tight and hope for something soon.

I hope so, too. They historically slow down around the holidays, and for an understandable reason.

I got a hold of the data spreadsheet from last year's CIC case load. (Jan - Dec 2014).

In that year-long period, they processed 45,418 Spouses, Partners and Other applications under Family Class. They issued 50,116 Visas/COPRs for Spouses, Partners and Other.

That's an insane number of cases they handle in one year for just spousal visas. (In total, they dealt with 146,816 cases for all PR applicants, issuing 255,705 visas/COPRs in 2014 including economic, skilled worker, etc.)

Statistically, I'm not sure how representative our group is of how the CIC operates with times, etc. There are only 196 names on the 2015 Outland Spousal spreadsheet that we're making predictions with. Note, that doesn't include inland names, and it's a VERY small percentage of the total number of applicants.

That being said, it also could be a great spread. Who really knows?

My thoughts are that they likely aren't a great distribution/representation because it's not random sampling, and let's be realistic: we're all English-speaking applicants who have at least enough money to afford computers at home, etc. Many of the applicants are not fluent in English/French, are not economically well-off, come from countries where applications are scrutinized differently, are not tech-savvy to find this forum, etc. Those applications with language issues, missing information, economic concerns, etc. are in the CIC offices but likely not showing up on our spreadsheets.

All we can really use is the data the CIC has provided, which isn't exactly telling. All we know is what 80% of the applications see time-wise based on VO. Beyond that, we're all trying to make the best-educated guesses we can.

I try not to think of the numbers because I feel more helpless than I care to feel. Still, I do enjoy being able to share the journey with you guys, and having some anticipation of when things happen—however statistically flawed or coincidental—is better than none!

I was also stressed about why I was not getting my SA.
Even though my ECAS showed that they mailed me their decision on June 23, 2015, I did not receive it in Canada Post until today! July 6, 2015.

So calling them, and filling out the case specific inquiry is not useful until you have patience and wait for it to arrive after 2 weeks.

I never got AOR1.

I'm hanging in .. I am really happy for the people who are now getting their SA's. Perhaps
they mailed my AOR.

Thanks for the helpful words to keep me from becoming discouraged. :D

Hey
I submitted my spousal visa application to missisuaga on 12 may ,recieved Aor ,however haven't recieved SA and it's 57 days now, anyone recieved SA who submitted file around 12 may.

Please guide me m worried

I am May 8th and have yet to receive it.

As I suspected, well I called they refused to be of any help. Even though the stated processing time on the website is 57 days and it has been over 60, the woman I spoke with said that since my app was not received on May 4 they wouldn't help me at all.

Just an update:

My ecas updated with DM on SA, but I don't have a letter or email.

The DM was made July 2nd and updated on the site today. Looks like it took a week for them to update it.

So, that means many of you could have SA or AOR and just aren't showing it in ecas yet. Hang in there! ;)

My AOR was on May 6th, and the site says that started working on my case on June 3rd. Also the updates from the spreadsheet was until the 3rd. I think this week will be moving in my date ( may 6th).

Now the time is increasing I think due to the Canada day holiday and perhaps people were on Vacations... that I what I want to hear....

let see how it goes...
