We sent away our application on the 16th May from Australia, it was received on the 26th May. Now it's the waiting game! I've added our info into the spreadsheet, can't wait to update it!

If you provided an email address, it will come via email. It will go to the sponsor.

I THINK it'll be mailed simply because they will not look at your documentation that contains your email address. (Can anyone confirm that?) The paperwork reads that information will be mailed unless an email address on the sponsor forms is indicated.

The current average for AOR is around a month based on the data we do have. My application was received on May 5, and I got the AOR email today. It's tough to wait, but it'll get there!

If you've put in an email on your application you will receive an email Only for your half (AOR AND SA). For his part he would get mail but ottawa doesn't send AOR 2's so if they request something from him they will mail him.

In July I will be applying for a visitor extension. Lets say they grant me a year extension (good until AUgust 2016) and we leave Canada to go on our honeymoon in December...When crossing back into canada and they ask how long my visit will be is it okay to say 10 months? (Since I've been granted the year extension). Or does my visitor status "reset" each time I cross the border? Is the year extension no longer valid if I decide to travel outside of Canada?

Welcome. I hope you didn't make mistakes with dates on your forms like you did here on your post saying July 1st 2015.

Is there any reason why your wife can't enter into Canada? You're able to enter and leave with an Outland application under normal circumstances. The reality is that her passport isn't associated yet with the PR since your application hasn't begun processing. So, even if you had a fear they wouldn't let her in, there's still time before they do enter that into their systems.

I've also heard some people in the past have a similar situation to yours, and their app was placed back in the queue. I'm not sure if that's the case always, but I know it's possible. (Perhaps you can indicate that somewhere on the box/package that it's resubmitted application for "missing" documents.)

Definitely include a cover letter stating what happened. I know I'd have a hard time remaining diplomatic in a letter like that, but hopefully someone will see it and feel that they need to expedite your application for their mistake. If you're inclined, there's a place to leave feedback for the CIC on their site. Definitely let them know this was their error/incompetence.

Well, I sent our application back to Mississauga yesterday. It was sent express by Canada post in order to get it there by Friday. I spoke to a Call center agent who told me she believes it was their mistake because these kinds of mistakes have been happening lately (her words). Just like you and others have mentioned she encouraged me to really emphasize in a letter that this was their mistake and not mine, so that we would have a chance for our application to be put back in line. I think the evidence is pretty clear since it was paid and stamped by the bank on May 1, 2015 and our application arrived in Mississauga on May 8, 2015. Were hoping for the best. Can't really say I'm too confident in CIC's ability to process applications properly or give us a break, but we have to accept it and push forward.

Some countries are visa exempt so they just ask for a copy.

But to some theyre just asking for appendix a (passport details) not the passport yet.

It depends on the vo abroad.
Manila asks for passport in the very beginning of the process. São Paulo on the very end.
It really depends how the official handle the case.
