I called them just now. The agent could not give me any new info except that my file was received on May 7th. No idea if they are missing any docs, if there is any delay, or if they even opened it yet. Only new info I got from her is that apparently they are not giving out AORs any more, they only give SA directly, or return the application. So, she just said I have no idea about your file except that we received it. Just wait however many months or years it takes (sorry, that last bit is me rephrasing).

Would like to ask you guys. In a zealous fit, I attached 500 pics and a huge bundle of chat logs and emails. Result was that my application was delivered in a box which is about double the size of a shoe box (to give you an idea). Do you think that's the issue? For those who got the SA, were your applications light and easy to open? Is it simply that I have box that they don't want to open it? Sorry, I'm just wondering what the delay is about...

May be I should have attached a couple of helium baloons to my application to make it seem less heavy and attract the officer. I did spray Axe on it though before sending it out

After all my obsessive reading in the forms today I just check my email and we got Sponsorship Approval!!!! ;D Now hopefully they change our file to Common Law before it is forwarded to LVO.

Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting that you get word soon

don't worry, our app was in a similar sized box too :-[ i know we exaggerated. too late to take it back now. pretty sure they'll shredd a part of our chat logs (like it happened to mikeymike's app )

yup mine was not that big. I didnt have to call in movers to ship it to CIC

it is normal. they didn't start processing your PR app yet, they just processed the sponsorship part - and it changed to "decision made" into ecas (i.e. you received SA)

the PR app won't go in process too soon, just like a couple months before PPR.

I thought SA was given when your application ships out to Visa Office, and then you get AOR2 from Visa Office. If Medicals Received is updated, is this an indirect AOR2?

Sponsorship approval happens before the file is sent to the visa office. for most applicants, the status will say medicals received at the time of sponsorship approval. some visa offices do not send AOR2s to confirm the package arrived. For some visa offices, you just keep your fingers crossed it gets to where it needs to be, and you won't know for sure until they request something during the process.
