Hi Im new here
I sent my application on May 13, 2014 and my SA is today JULY 15, 2014

WAIT.. I didnt receive AOR i only got a letter stating:

"This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class you submitted to this office on behalf of _________.

You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing...."

This means Im approved as a sponsor right?but I dont have AOR

This is moving very slow, but it's good to see some progress ;D

Congrats! Good to see at least some of us are getting SAs. I still haven't heard anything though - May 7th filed....

its updated now.. they are working on application received on 16th may .. i sent out the application on 13th may ..they should have received on 15th may max.. when should i call them??? or should i wait ?? really worried

I'm not going to withdraw at this point, but I'm not going down without a fight I was informed by CIC NOT to withdraw it because the agent may recognize the error and contact me for clarification, but that in the end it may very well be refused. I also contacted my MP, he contacted CIC and gave the advice I previously mentioned regarding Additional Documents. CIC told me on Friday my the Additional Doc have been attached to the original application and I should hear within 10 days whether I have SA or not. I'm hoping I still have a chance

i believe how it works, is if they don't change your application now, they will request an interview, and at that point they may give you the opportunity to switch the type of application to receive approval. There is another couple who did the same thing, and i believe they plan to submit the additional forms at the interview. I am not completely sure, it just sounds like that *may* be what happens...

So there this another scenario lol I have been trying to find a thread that was similar to our situation. Can't seem to find one through my searches on the form. If you have a link I would be soooo grateful Cheers

no, sorry, i don't know the specific member's name. all i know it was a us/canadian couple. they mistakenly applied conjugal and now have an interview scheduled. they got their case notes and confirmed the issue was the "conjugal" part of the application. you can try looking at the us applicant thread or ottawa visa office thread. that may be where i read about it? perhaps if you search "conjugal" and "interview" together, it will pop up?

Im actually surprised that there are applicants that were earlier than me and didn't get SA.

when did u filed ??? is the date we sent or the date they received the application??

It goes by the date they received riz.hash. I submitted mine on May 3rd, it was received as per tracking on May 5th, but they "received" it on May 7th apparently. I still don't have an AOR or an SA. When I called them, I got an email saying we received the application on May 7th. Thats all I know so far. Planning to call them again today just to see whats going on. Anyone know if they get annoyed if I call and push me back more on purpose? They are not supposed to do that right? Of course, I can't be calling everyday either...But, I'm hitting 70 days and haven't seen anything.

I called CIC. They claim there is no delay in our application, and I should be receiving AOR soon. Fingers crossed, so I can stop stressing and enjoy summer.
