Bad news guys! They sent the app back to my husband in Ireland cause I forgot to do some part in the app! So my husband is filing it out for me and going to mail it to me in Canada so I can sign for it and than I have to send it to CIC Missausga. I was electing to hear from them about SA this tuesday! now this is going to set us back 2-3 weeks :/. Will they look at our application once they receive it or will we have to wait even longer? How does it work? Because by the time they get it, it will have surpassed the 55 day mark. I am so angry right now!!!
very sad to hear that. which parts did u forget?

It may be more than 2-3 weeks coz I guess your application was returned before it entered the system (I mean no file number is assigned). So it may be a new application all together. Dont wanna scare you but this might just be the case. This is why the more time CIC takes for stage 1 it gets more scary coz you never know whats going to happen and in case this happens a lot of time is wasted.

They should have some process where they should first check for the completeness of the application in the first few days of receiving the application. Now I am scared about my application too :(

her application wasn't returned, they received an email requesting missing documents, so her application is basically on standby until CIC receives missing document . As already explained to mrs in the other thread, she *may* have to wait until the date specified in the letter, known as the bring forward date, for the application to continue processing OR she *may* not. people have a variety of experiences with missing documents. my aor and sa were delayed 2 weeks, and my application received date was recorded as a month after it was originally delivered. There are others from march and april STILL waiting. There is no "norm" for how long it delays the application.

I did not receive an email nor did my husband. He received a letter. They still have the application though. We just need to fill one part of the application that my husband missed in his part of the app. The date the letter was sent was June 25th. Application is still with CIC I believe.

The part that we did not send in I don't really know the number but, there;s a part in the application on my husbands part where I also had to include family members like my father, sisters, their addresses, DOB, and that kind of info. My husband only submitted his, he didn't know I also had to have one too. He's going to send everything back in on Monday. Hoping for a speedy process! Just sucks because the 55 day mark was supposed to be this coming Tuesday :(!

I guess the form that you are referring to is Additional Family Information form. As far as I know this form is to be filled by the sponsored person not the principal applicant.

Hope for a speedy process for everyone

Mrs. Purcy I understand what you are going through because I had to resend a document too. I'm sorry it happened to you too. I hope that we don't have to wait until that deadline on the letter thing before they review it again. It's bad enough it's already a 55 day turnaround time and to wait another 45 days is ridiculous. Fingers crossed! We just have to think positively :)

So sad to hear that Mrs. Purcy. Thats another one of the May applicants that is seeing a delay now. Its a bit scary.

But, I'm very confused - hope you can clarify: You are in Mississauga, you are the sponsor. Your husband is the applicant, he is in Ireland, right?

They sent a letter to your husband in Ireland about a missing form? And that form is IMM5406 - Additional Family Information, which was missing?

Looking at IMM5491E, which is the document checklist, IMM5406 needs to be filled by the applicant (person being sponsored), not the sponsor. IMM5406 is not in the checklist of documents required from the sponsor. I didn't submit it - I'm the sponsor. My wife submitted this - she is the applicant.

So, then why are they requiring you to submit this info if its not in the checklist? And why did they send a letter to your husband, not you about it? My guess is that your husband needs to fill this out, not you. If he already did in the original application, that just makes this even more confusing.

Also Mrs. Purcy, did the letter have a UCI number for you or for your husband? Perhaps you can call the call center and find out more info with the UCI, if you have doubts.

The "sponsored person" IS the "principle applicant". The additional family information form is for the APPLICANT to fill out. That is the form we missed. It is for CIC to use to determine future sponsorship eligibility. The sponsor does NOT fill out this form.

ONLY the APPLICANT needs to fill out the additional family form. The SPONSOR does NOT need to fill this out, as per the checklists. Therefore, if it's the additional family information form, only your husband, the APPLICANT needs to fill it out. Reread the email, as it should be pretty clear. You do not have to wait for it if your husband has all ready filled it out. Look at the checklists, it will confirm this fact. If you as the sponsor sends it in, then they will most likely just toss it as it is NOT a required form for the sponsor.

You are correct. The letter most likely was addressed to the sponsor (Mrs. Purcy), and requested the form for the principle applicant. Mrs. Purcy may have put her husband's email as the email for sponsor correspondence. They will send the email to what ever is listed as the email of choice on the sponsor's form. If this is the case, and mrs. purcy is the SPONSOR, then only her HUSBAND needs to fill out the form, and submit it. THey will throw out the form if the sponsor sends it, as it is not required for the sponsor.

I agree! I really hope the both of us don't have to wait that long too. 55 day mark made it worse enough already :/
