Hi everyone,

Just need some info re the impact on the cec aplication if u have been refused entry to usa? Will this be a problem ?

Also, if ur visa had been cancelled in thepast and ordered to leave the country ,
would this hv a negative impact on the cec application?

Appreciate it if anyone can shed light on these matters.

:)

It depends on why you were refused entry in USA or why you were ordered to leave a country. If you pose a security threat to Canada, then yes more than likely your application will be rejected.

Thanks for the reply. No , nothing of a security threat. My work visa was cancelled bec at thst time i lost my job and had 28 days to either leave the country or find a new employr to sponsor me. I found one but he led me on saying that the sponsorship is in process until i found out his sponsorship as employer was not approved bec he could not produce the financial docs the immigration office was asking him. By the time i found out the truth, my visa was to be cancelled and i hv become unlawful in my status in the country. I guess i overstayed so to speak. Re the usa entry refusal, they believed i was to work on my visitor visa. They cacanceled my visa, refused me entry then sent me back to my country.

No, if you dont receive any in your company.

Anyone's CC charged or DD cashed out this week yet??

I believe people who applied in the beginning of the month should have their card charged by now..

Please update guys!!! :)

People from the end of April are still waiting for their cc to be charged, so I guess that they wont start processing May applications for at least 10 more days

Hi ljiljka007!

3 of my friends who sent out their files on April 30, 2014 got their CC charged around the 22nd of this month. The only thing I can say is not everyone is updating their charged status here except a few people. So, right now its kinda hard to rely on this.

I've a strong feeling that people whose files have been received by May 07th, 2014 have their CC's charged already.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I didnt know that. I rely only on information that I see here on spreadsheets. I sent mine on May 12, so it would be great if they already started working on our applications. But if You look the timeline for the people who applied by the end of April you can see that they are working much slower then in February and March.

I am still waiting for somebody from May to update their info :)

If we look at the contact CIO guidelines on the CIC website, we know that we will not receive a response from the CIO office if an applicant has applied within the last 8 to 10 weeks. So we can assume that this is how long it normally takes for them to process the AOR (as per my conversation with the CIC call center agent). We can also see that this has roughly been the processing time over the last year.
If an applicant is well within this timeline, it's safe to assume that everything is OK. If the timeline has passed, then it's wise to contact the CIO office.
Yes the processing time over the last couple of months had picked up considerably and unfortunately it has gone down a bit this month, but it is still well within the "hinted" processing times.
It's true that certain applicants don't provide regular updates on this forum, but for the ones who haven't received a response, we just have to wait to hear from CIO/CIC :(
Hopefully, it all ends well!

On your last entry to canada, I have exited from canada to US and entered from US by land to Canada, Do I have to mention taht date. I don't see any entry in my passport, they didn't stamp. Or I mention only the passport stamped entry in the generic form.

Appreciate your reply..

Yes, you will have to mention that.

Word of advise (from someone who recently became a Canadian citizen) - make sure that they stamp your passport every time you enter the country. If you intend on becoming a Canadian citizen, these dates will matter to you later on when you apply for citizenship.
