Am brand new to the site and I am the principle applicant, applying outland from London U.K. Application sent to Missiagua 26May 2012. App received May 28 2012. Am wondering if you guys can help me with a few things. What does PPR mean and what does COPR mean?

Hey !

Welcome to the forum! PPR means passport request, and COPR means Confirmation of permanent residence. If you are from a visa-exempt country, you won't actually receive a PPR because they will just issue a paper ( called COPR) that you can bring with you at the border when you land in Canada and that's it! at least that's what the UK office seems to be doing for visa-exempt applicants.

There is a UK thread as well if you want to follow specifically what is happening there ( and get an idea how long it takes for stage 2, once the sponsorship approval has been received).

why update your site if you are stuck on the same date for like 3 weeks now?

has anyone read in any other threads about dates past Feb 29th? I know last week a couple people were saying March 15/16 is where they are at...


I think we were all looking forward to some good news before the Long Weekend....
hopefully they are trying to surprise us

i just read in the March thread for the 21st someone got their approval today... so not bad... hopefully soon we will be finished March and on to April quickly and jump to May and June

Do u or anyone know why CIC doesnt update properly???

PPR MEANS PASSPORT REQUEST AND COPR IS THE CONFIRMATION LETTER FOR PR....THAT YOU WILL RECIEVE ONCE THE VISA IS ISSUED......WELCOME....

Most of the approvals are coming via email I applied in March and mine came via email so if you have given your email....good enough....Call CIC and ask them to change your address.......If you have ever applied for citizenship...use ur client id and you can change your addresss......

I have a question. We are moving to PEI at the end of July. Our address and email will change. Since I will have no file number until they actually open my application, how do I notify them of an address change?

You can also try calling CIC.....but I would do it myself if you have a client ID from your any other case....

My wife is not happy with me being in Europe whilst the whole process is being completed but since we are at such an early stage, it is hard to just up sticks and leave without any way of working or any hope of being able to get a job while the process is ongoing. I would love to come to Canada (Alberta) and wait the process out but as in the modern world things are not as straight forward as I have a mortgage and a job here that and the fact a 6 month tourist Visa is as long as I could stay anyway and factoring in approx time lines of the process, I would still have to leave anyway so as much as I love, adore and miss her I do not see that me being there on a 6 month visa would make the process any more bareable.

I am a Canadian citizen, so no client id Do they send anything by mail or is it all email? I am having my mail forwarded to my parents who live in us so they can weed out junk and send me the rest......

Hey everyone!

Im totally new to this.....Im german/swiss citizen and married to my canadian husband since sep. 2011. We send in our application to mississauga on the 18th may 2012 and would need to go through the berlin visa office but i've been reading about people saying the berlin office closed and all files been send to vienna, austria now (since arround april/may?), anyone got information about that for me? And i guess that will cause delays.....
