yes I've seen that link and been on the site, still doesn't tell me if they have actually recived my package and I have yet to get a letter back from them.

The issue is there should be a simple way to check if the paperwork has at least arrived and been filed.

Then again with all the government cutbacks recently I'm not holding my breath on getting a speedy answer.

The CIC office in Victoria BC is right next door to my condo. I went there to get some answers about my application and they gave me the "we only deal with inland applications". I was still able to have the clerk look up a few details for me. What I found out however was that they were closing down at the end of the month... This was a building the government had JUST rented, same thing with the Tax office around the corner

The only way to find out if they have received your file is to have had it tracked by a courrier company. I sent mine March 2nd received March 5th as we requested a signature and delivery date. I have not received anything so far. Some are lucky and receive AOR's ( Acknowlegment of Receipt) but most of us don't.Hope this helps!

If you do get an AOR it won't be for at least two months based on current numbers. I got mine after 78 days. Most don't get one at all. Just FYI.

Well it's about time...

We finally got everything finalized and sent in on Friday... Papers are in Mississauga but haven't been delivered yet. Hopefully tomorrow, though at this point I'm not sure one day will make much a difference. We're applying outland, but I'm already in Canada on a 12 month visitor visa. Can you please add me to the spreadsheet?

The ladies at the post office laughed at the HUGE stack of papers I brought in. I have to wonder if they are really going to read through the 250 pages of chat logs I sent along.

I noticed you did the medical before sending the application, I am thinking of doing the medicals before they ask for them to save time, is there any drawback of this?
I live near Mississauga, did you use the services of a doctor near me? do you recomment anyone in the GTA or Hamilton?

It asked for the proof of medical examination in the papers, it's item #12 on the document checklist. I was not about to send in my application without it. We (my daughter and I) had them done in the States, so I don't know of anyone up your way. So sorry I can't help.

my understanding is that you need to go to certain physicians that do immigration physicals. There is a list of approved doctors on the web site I chose the closest and a female. After having the medical, and if you are female, I recommend that might be your choice as well.
