Sent my application a week ago, and STILL haven't heard anything I'm losing my mind,
why haven't i heard back from them yet? why haven't they sent me an email or letter or anything

That will stay that way for a while ( 90 days timeline for step 1 ). Patience will be learned here.
They open your package around the time they state on their site. You can see what dates they are working on ( Feb. 9th now). You will hear than within a few days after they open your package if your sponsorship is approved. Thats the first time you receive a email from them.

My husband and i are preparing the forms and supported documents for sponsorship application.
we have a 4 year daughter and are expecting our second daughter in August. My husband has recently returned to Canada Toronto and he is trying to find a job, meanwhile we have filled the application forms for both parts (Part 1 and Part 2). Me and my daughter have made the medical check, one week ago (5 may 2012).
I do have some question:
- It is better to send the application package now than my husband has no job??? or we should wait until he got a job offer? We have heard that you must have a job in order to start the application process.
- is it necessary to have any friends declaration to prove that our relation is genuine?? We have lived together for 5 years now, what details do we need to show in order to prove that our relation is genuine and unique? we have send some pictures during our vacations or family celebrations. And i am writing a letter to send it with my application, but is not easy even to structure the letter. We have a normal happy family with our routine problems, i believe like many others.
- It is really hard for us staying apart especially for my daughter she is missing her daddy a lot, and i am really concerned that is going to be harder through the time, and is not easy to explain why he is staying apart from her and how long it will take this time.

When there are children being sponsored, the sponsor needs to meet financial requirements. It will depend on whether or not he meets the financial requirements.

It is not necessary to get declarations from friends. But remember, everything helps. In my case, I wrote a list of friends/family, the date they met us as a couple and the place in which they met us.

what are the financial requirement? for two children? how much do we have to declare in order to be classified??
I am from Albania, we have to apply for visa and we didn't think they will issue a visa for me and my daughter, that's why we decided my husband to come back in Canada and start the application from there, while we stay here.

we also have made a list of friends we have been in contact during this 5 years, but not for all of them we have pics, it is just our statement in the forms. while we have many videos instead of pictures, but they state do not send DVD-s or electronic devices, etc.
we have printed out some pictures with three of us in different times (for Easter, Christmas, summer holidays, or friends birthday celebrations where we were invited). i just think to include some post-cards we have received from our friends of cousins send to us when our daughter was born.
